Ridge Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2015Good Confidence Boost
Have played this course a couple of times since the re-design. The re-design made this course a little too vanilla. I realize the course is new, and that it takes awhile to fill in, but the entire course is hardpan. Carts are being driven too close to the greens (because the cart paths are too far away from the greens) and it is not allowing the grass to fill in. Also, there really is not a whole lot of trouble that comes into play, and they didn't make great use of the space. The course is too short and kind of seems crammed in. Will give it a few years to fill in and then maybe give it another shot. Staff is friendly.
Glenmoor Golf Course
Played On 02/26/2015Just Ok
This review is not just based on one round of golf. I've been playing here for years. The course is not city owned like most courses in the SL Valley. As such, they don't seem as concerned about customer service, or overall just being very accommodating. Nothing worse than having the staff treat you like they are the ones doing you the favor by getting you out on the course. Also, as of last year, they didn't have a junior rate, which seems a little outlandish to me. Actual course is ok. Over-priced compared to similar courses in the area. Overall an ok experience, but the way things are run is a bit of a turnoff.
Coyote Springs Golf Club
Played On 01/03/2015Great course, slow pace.
Drove down from SLC to play Coyote and a couple other Mesquite area courses. We enjoyed Coyote Springs. The layout was great, fun holes, very challenging. Greens borderline hokey and a lot of places nearly impossible if not impossible to putt from. Only big complaint was the pace of play. We had the 11:40 time and finished in the nick of time before dark (around 5:00 @ the first of January). Waited on every single hole. Pace was so slow it was demoralizing. Not a marshall in sight. Would give this course another shot.
Lake at Wasatch Mountain State Park
Played On 10/01/2014One of the top courses in the state
One of the most beautiful courses in Utah, and for the price, one of the best golf values in the country. We love camping at the campground near the course and sneaking in at least 9 holes on the weekend. The course is always in beautiful condition, and 36 holes provides a nice change of scenery. Lake course is a little more friendly, flat terrain. Mountain course provides tougher landscape, undulating greens and fairways. Staff can be a little uppity at times, but overall one of the best golf experiences you can have in the state.
