Played on Friday after a local golf tournament at 3:40 at discounted rate. Weather forecast was cloudy with 40% of showers which we had for only 1 hole. Pace was fantastic as there was no one behind us and we passed foursome ahead of us on the 11th hole, finished round in 3 hrs 40 mins. Rain fell on the course the previous day but course, greens, tee boxes and fairways were in fantastic condition. Greens were hard and speedy, greens ran out 3-4 feet on 30-40 foot putts despite attention paid to pace and weight of greens. Despite, water in play on 10 holes and the challenging 3 island 18th hole, I didn't lose a ball. Great day, excellent conditions and great value. Definitely recommended

It was a long adventurous drive over the mountains from Temecula but definitely worth it. Used $45 deal through SCGA. I was travelling from Vancouver, Canada with my wife to San Diego area to watch UW Huskies softball and decided to use offer for a round of golf. The course looked green and in fantastic shape driving in after playing 3 SD courses hit by winter storms which left the SD courses soft and wet.
I walked on as a single after the pro shop said come any time, we get you on. Very hospitable and friendly words from the pro.I joined a couple from NoCal who were a delight to play with, good players and very friendly.
The courses was in fantastic shape, fairways, greens, rough and sand traps. Some of the tee boxes needed additional cutting.
Pace of play was excellent 3 1/2 hrs for our threesome. I was glad that I joined them so that they could provide hints and directions for some of the holes.
Overall, it was a wonderful day of golf on a course which I played for the 1st time and meeting two new players who my friends for the afternoon. Definitely, I would recommend Borrego Springs and hope to return there soon.

Great deal on Tee Off for Fri. Played with 2 Canadians and fellow from Utah. Sunny day with little wind. Nice warmup range. I arrived an hour early to warmup and they did not have a cart available for me. Chimera was very well manicured, greens were quick, many 2 tiered greens. You need to have control of your pace for putting in order not to have a lot of 3 putt green. Fairways, tee boxes and rough were immaculate. This is one of the better manicured courses which I have played. Bunkers were well raked and very challenging. Many of the bunkers were 6-8 feet deep which were ok green side but the fairway bunkers were too penal. Having to pitch sideways just slows down the pace of play.
The second power cart in our group ran out of power on our 13th hole dead in the middle of the fairway. We had to use the other cart to go back to the clubhouse to get a new cart. By the time, we went back to the clubhouse that cart was also losing power such that we had to have 2 new carts. Needless to say that this situation was a nuisance and delayed our round. I noticed that one of the previous reviews also indicate a power cart problem.The carts appeare to be older models which could be a reason for the problems which need to be remedied.
Overall, the day was very enjoyable and fun and I will return to play Chimera again.

undulating fairways, elevation changes, treacherous greens, challenging par 3's, soft white sand, Wow factor, wonderful landscaping with colourful shrubs and flowers, tree lined fairways, great course at a reasonable green fee, what more do you want, highly recommended

The sunny weather and excellent course conditions made our first trip to the 9 hole course extremely enjoyable. We played 18 holes in 3 hrs 20 mins with different yardages and pin placements on the holes for the back 9. Fairways were lush and greens were rolling smooth and quick on downhill putts. There are numerous holes hitting to elevated greens which we found easier on the back 9 after playing 1st 9. Course is a good workout with uphill and downhill holes. Course is an hour drive from our but well worth it. Value was fantastic with $12 ( which saved $23 off senior rate) green fee from Golf Now which included pull cart.Definitely will return and recommend playing course.

Played course during very cold weather period in Lynden. Most courses in the Bellingham and Vancouver, B.C. were closed for play due to frost and icy conditions. Fairways were hard but greens were puttable. Can't beat value on golf website. Very few golfers were on the course due to 15 mph winds. 3 1/2 round for only winter golfers. Highlight of the year was hole in one on 16th hole.

Last minute great deal through discount green fee site. Used to play the course 30 years ago but when the exchange was more favorable to us Canadians. Trees have matured and it was a pleasure to play and remember holes and layout again. Played on a Fri., we finished the front 9 in under 2 and hrs.
Unfortunately, the back 9 slowed down to 2 3/4hr. The course had received a summer rainfall for the last 2 days and the course was quite soft. balls were plugging in the fairway. We will return as there are some great green fee deals available on the discount golf sites.
It would be nice for the pro shop to inform the golfers whether you are starting on the Tide or Timber course

Just a short trip for us Canadians, great value and course conditions. Can be challenging for intermediate player. Much more forgiving than Olympic course but also more fun. Can't play a course like this in B.C. for this value. Love the Gold Mountain courses and how we are treated by course personnel.

Absolutely, love Olympic course, great value and course conditions, challenging par 5 holes and lengthy par 4's. Great variety of holes and interesting course routing. Unfortunately, I believe 17th and 18th holes are not befitting 1st 16 holes. Both holes squeezed into too small area. Must drive the ball well as numerous holes play long because of elevations changes. Enjoy both courses in the same day with their 36 hole special. We will be back!

Played as a foursome in 4 hrs with dry conditions even though it had rained the previous night and the morning of' our tee time.. It's always sunny at point Bob. Course conditions have improved since last year when our group indicated we would not return to course as fairways had deteriated such that some fairways were 50 % dirt. There are still some rough areas on some of the fairways such as 13 and 17 but the course had worked hard in the off season to bring course back to playability. Course was struggling with no. of rounds played dropping and negative comments. The course though it needs to continue to improve fairways, greens and traps is definitely back on our list of courses to be played and enjoyed.Course is still scenic and is fun to play with interesting routing of holes. Many eagles were spotted during our round..

Played 4/30. Course was in good condition after wet Mar./April. Best sunshine weather of the year. Day was windy making downwind holes easy and into holes long. Greens were a little bumpy, still recovering from punching. Good value from discount website..

Worth the drive out to NW Phoenix. Very good value for 10:00 tee time. Greens were in good condition with slick pin positions, Fairways and tee off areas were in very good condition. Definitely would recommend if in the area.
