Decent course but play it when conditions are better

This is a 9 hole course that is quite challenging with some fairly steep undulations running throughout the course. The course wasn't in great condition when we played but to be fair it has rained a lot recently and it isn't the only course that has suffered. It was very wet underneath there were pools of water everywhere and it was very soggy but again it has been very wet recently. Tee boxes have been moved forward and there was 1 temporary green.

For your mid to high handicapper there is definitely enough to keep you interested but for someone below 18 I would go elsewhere. The pace of play was ok but for some reason a 3 ball tried to let us through on the par 3 8th and waited near the green and watched our tee shots which seemed a little silly. I think this is probably a blip though.

I wouldn't play this course again over the Winter but would definitely play it again in the Summer as you can tell that it would be a beautiful spectacle. If you're graduating from long par 3 courses and don't feel ready yet for a full length 18 hole course then give this is a try!

Great course at really good value

This is a great course in good condition that has a great mixture of holes that offer a variety of challenges. Some are narrow and tight where accuracy is at a premium, there can be reward for accurate drives but you can also be punished if your line isn't right. The bunkers are very well placed (and in great condition) and the natural undulations will challenge your ability to hit the ball above or below your feet. The low mark for pace of play was down to a society that was playing in front of us and the last 4 ball in that society were holding us up as a 2 ball as well as the 4 ball behind us, which was annoying. Overall that is one of experience we've had here and an isolated incidence, I would definitely recommend this course to advanced level golfers down to players playing in the mid 20s handicap.

Good Course For A Hot Deal

This is a good course to play on a hot deal. We paid £18 for a round which was fair. The tee boxes were not in good condition and the greens were very slow. There has been a lot of wet weather recently so I think some leeway should be given for this as I reckon in the summer this would be a better course to play. The views of the North West when you reach the higher points of the course are stunning. Overall a decent, challenging course that is good value if played under a hot deal.

Great challenging course

If you get this course for a hot deal it is worth every penny. It has a great combination of challenging holes and interesting par 3s. This will challenge golfers of every level as some of the pins are a bit narrow so your approach shots have to be really accurate.

Challenging + picturesque course off the beaten track

This is a fantastic course that offers so much for 18 holes of golf. The course itself is incredibly challenging with having to to hit up hill, down hill, ball below and above your feet. Some blind tee shots, approaches to narrow greens, dog legs and true undulating greens. Given that we paid £16.99 for hot deal tee time the course was excellent value for money. The course is incredibly hilly and even if you have a trolley is tough to walk so if you're not the fittest definitely consider a buggy. I won't go through every hole but there is so much variety that you will not get bored plus the views at the top of the hills are stunning so take a camera with you! The members were great too and were happy to let us play through so we weren't held up at all. For handicappers 18 or lower this is a great challenge, for higher handicaps this is a tough course so concentrate on positioning off the tee rather than power!

Good Challenge For Beginners + Intermediates

This is a good course for those looking to progress from playing par 3 courses as there are no par 5s on this course. The holes all offer something a little bit different whether that be long par 4s, a sharp dog leg to the right, an approach into a tight green, a par 3 green surrounded by bunkers as well as an undulating 8th hole that is narrow and positioning is at a premium. A good challenge for handicappers in their 20s an above, perhaps not worth it to those playing to 18 and below.

Solid Course In Good Condition

This course will challenge those who are higher handicappers around the low 20s and above but for people who have a handicap of 18 or lower it probably wouldn't be challenging and interesting enough. The course is in great condition and for a hot deal price is good value for money. For a couple of pounds more than Altrincham it is definitely worth the upgrade to play here as it is in very condition and the greens are nice and good pace.

A Well Kept Challenging Course

This is a challenging course, for high handicappers (late 20s or above) it might be too difficult/frustrating but for mid to low handicappers this has a great balance between being challenging and rewarding good shots. The greens are in good condition as well. It was a warm day so taking a buggy or at the very least a trolley would be recommended as it is quite hilly in parts plus there are some long walks between tees. Overall would highly recommend this course.

Decent Course Worth Trying

The course is a good course for golfers of all abilities. For those of high handicaps who have played long par 3 or 9 hole courses this will be a good challenge. For low handicap golfers there will be some holes of challenge with some interesting approach shots and good paced greens. Unfortunately our round was tainted by the 3 slow playing members in front who wouldn't let us as a quick playing 2 ball through. Also a 2 ball jumped in front of us to slow us and the group behind us down.

Good transitional course

Am learning the game and need a course to transition from the longer course at Adlington and this course is ideal as it provides longer holes and faster greens so is a really good challenge and step up. Great value for money considering it is only a few pounds more than Adlington and is a full 18.

Great long course for beginners

I am someone who plays a lot at the longer par 3 at Adlington and for me as someone who is learning the game and wants a step up from the long par 3 course at Adlington this is a great course. Challenging enough to keep you interested but not so easy that you get bored. We played off Winter tees which shortened the course, which was helpful for me as I'm not the biggest hitter so it will be great to play the full length in the spring when hopefully after some more practice I can hit further.

Challenging course for beginners

I play a lot at Adlington where the graduate par 3 course is challenging with some tough par 3's of 200+ yards. This is a good step up from that with some good length par 3's and some shorter par 4's. Playing off the red tees may be a good idea if it's your first time and you're a beginner as that helps with the distance.
