Swiss Fairways Golf Course
Played On 02/21/2018A pleasant surprise!
I had heard of this course in past year visits but never played it. I was happy to see green fairways with decent lies and an interesting layout of challenging holes built around the lagoons of an active water ski training facility. The greens were a little patchy but that did not seem to affect the roll much and they were fairly quick. For $25 this was a real value. I will definitely play it again.

Played On 02/09/2018Lush greens
I like the layout of this course, it’s elevation changes and large, lush greens. I found the fairways thin and tight with inconsistent grass - it took a little away from the otherwise good experience.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 02/05/2018Greens very thin
I like the layout of this course and the size and placement of the greens but the condition of the putting surfaces were not up to prior years. Bare spots and thin spots have overtaken many of the greens which still run surprisingly true given the problem. The fairways are good but provide tighter lies than I am used to in the northeast. The sand traps were large but the sand was more “wet packed” than granular and not deeply or freshly raked. I’ll play again but the greens definitely need some attention.
Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Played On 03/16/2017Well groomed
The course was in good condition, despite the frost delay. The greens are large, fast and complex - a little bumpy at times due to play frequency and folks not fixing ballparks - but all in all, very nice.
River Marsh Golf Club - Hyatt Chesapeake Bay
Played On 08/15/2016Hot summer
Nice layout, well bunkered and challenging greens. A few fairways suffering from this summers heat and greens were pretty slow (not cut to protect from the heat) but in decent shape. Will play again in the fall to see if fairways improve.
Kings Ridge Golf Club - Kings Course
Played On 2/25/2013Classic design, consistent greens.
We had a little fog obscuring our view on the first few holes but thoroughly enjoyed our round. Some areas of rough just off the fairway were a little difficult but generally a forgiving course with a good variety of tees for all levels of gophers.
Legends Golf & Country Club
Played On 2/12/2013Nice elevation changes and beautiful vistas
The course is well maintained with only a few areas of the rough needing some winter attention. The greens were all in wonderful condition. Te staff were friendly and not "over attentive" as some are. It is one of my favorite courses when I am in the Orlando area due to the unique elevation changes and views of Lake Louisa. If you play here, you will play more than once!
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 2/4/2013Challenging layout
I arrived at 6:25 for a 7:00 tee time and the pro shop was not open. The starter did not offer range time or practice green - not very welcoming. The young staff were pleasant but I didn't feel the clubhouse was ready for customers. The course was interesting with good greens and plenty of sand traps (which could use a little more sand in them). The absence of GPS equipment made the round a little more difficult for the first timer and the scorecard was no help at all with intermediate distances. I enjoyed the morning and will play again but once again at the end of play there was no one to assist with clubs and inquire into my experience that day. Some work to be done here with customer experience.
Palisades Country Club
Played On 2/23/2012A traditional course with beautiful views of the nearby lake.
We really enjoyed playing this course! The holes fit our eye well , the fairways were in good shape and the greens were quick and consistent. Holes 2 and 3 were pretty challenging early in the round and the foursome behind our two were a little intimidating with each one having his own cart. We felt a little pushed with their pace of play and couldn't really enjoy the course until about the sixth hole. We plan to play this one again before we go home - it was very nice and the staff very courteous.
Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club
Played On 2/21/2012Unique design and beautiful views!
This course features uniquely designed holes that take advantage of the hilltop location. Our twosome joined a single who knew the course, which was helpful on the many blind shots that faced us. The fairways and greens were in great shape, the greens were pretty quick once the sun dried them out and accepted approach shots softly. There is very little water on the course but large fairway, waste and green side bunkers that seem to swallow up any shot that is not squarely on line. That is my only criticism of this course - trouble lurks just a foot or two off the groomed fairways and can be very challenging to a higher handicapper. Middle of the fairway shots are rewarded, so choose a shorter club and keep it straight!
