Nursery Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/16/2015Cold and rainy, still worth the trip. Look forward to going back!
Fun little track, another under-rated Alberta course. Most holes give you the option to use anything from driver to 4 iron to tee off with. Placement is paramount, plethora dog-legs - recommend knowing distances to the corners of them. The par 5's are awesome and you can play the longest hole in the country, a firm test even as a par 6. The par 3's offer a nice variety.
Trestle Creek Golf Resort - Jack Pine/Creekside Course
Played On 10/04/2014Definitely worth the trip, can't wait for next 9 to open.
Definitely worth the trip from Edmonton, great mix of holes, including a great risk-reward/drivable par 4, strategic par 5s and good diversity in par 3 length. Unlike too many courses these days, the bunkers are not easy. Strategically placed - a hazard to be avoided the way bunkers are meant to be. This facility/resort will be incredible once everything is finished. The nine holes we played (twice around) and the bonus island green hole were all phenomenal. The highlight are the green complexes - in excellent shape and feature a great deal of undulation.
Grand Niagara Golf Club - The Rees Jones Course
Played On 07/11/2014Conditions and layout second to none
Having played all over Canada, I can easily say this is one of the best conditioned courses tee-to-green I have ever played. Intimidating off the tee, risk-reward long holes, great variety in par three's. Can't say enough about the staff, truly professional and friendly. Lots of great deals on many sites, but this course is worth playing at any price.
Ironhead Golf and Country Club
Played On 05/10/2014Great track, poorly run
Course is worth the trip from Edmonton, but make sure they will honour your tee time. Claimed they don't have to keep golfnow tee times, tried to move our group by an hour and a half.
Goose Hummock Golf Resort
Played On 8/29/2013Great layout, great shape. Long front nine, tight back nine. Well worth the trip!!
Fun course, good shape, great variety of holes. Well worth the trip from Edmonton.
Montgomery Glen Golf & Country Club
Played On 8/2/2013The course layout is enjoyable and a good mix of challenging and simple holes.
A good layout is what saves this experience. Greens are in good shape, rest of the course requires a lot of attention. But since the city took over, the budget for improvement has clearly gone down. We were first to tee off at 7:06am. We waited at the locked gate for a golf shop employee until 7am to let us in. Grounds crew asked us to slow down so they could cut greens. Very little attention to detail. Unless you find a time for less than 20 dollars, wouldn't recommend spending too much here.
