Richmond Hill Golf Club
Played On 05/28/2022Greens need some work and the rough grass is too long
I usually really enjoy playing this course but I found that the rough was too long. Some of the greens have a lot of ball marks and need to be better maintained. Pace of play was excellent. It should be in better shape for the price you pay.
Uplands Golf and Ski Club
Played On 08/03/2020This course ought to be closed - very bad. I wouldn't play here again even if it was free.
You can only check in 10 mins prior to your tee off time. The kid who said he was the starter had no idea who was on the first tee box. 4 people waiting to tee off and no control over who goes next. The cart paths were beyond acceptable - take Gravol - yes, they're THAT bad. The greens were not mowed so they were extremely slow. The fairways are uneven and patchy in areas. Then there's construction - one of the Par 4 holes is now another Par 3. But the 18th hole takes the cake! Construction at the bottom of the hill with big water pipes lying across what should be your lay-up area make it impossible to play the hole properly. Get your act together or close down until the course is fit to be called a golf course.

The condition of the greens has greatly improved from the last time I played here a few months ago. The course is in beautiful shape.
Angus Glen Golf Club - North
Played On 10/21/2019Not as great as I thought it would be but some very beautiful holes
Nobody said anything about some greens being aerated. One of the practice greens had also been aerated. Lots of divot marks on some greens. Definitely not a course you could walk - it’s quite long. Warning: if it’s cart path only it’d be a long walk to your ball - ask when you book. Nice GPS on the cart. No cell phone charger in cart. Beverage cart came by many times. Staff very friendly. Parking lot was packed due to a presentation - I had to park about 500m (I was practically at Kennedy Rd!) from the Pro Shop. Perhaps they should have a courtesy shuttle (cart) driving people back and forth to the lot especially after your round is done. A course info booklet would be nice for first-timers as there were a couple of blind shots - if they have one I was not offered it. Lots of other courses in the area that are cheaper and just as nice to play. I’m sure I would have enjoyed playing more if it hadn’t been so windy.

Great pace of play today. I’m happy that all three 9-hole courses are open as it alleviates the congestion.
The course is in very good shape. Lots of ball marks on some greens - too bad ignorant people don’t spend the 15 seconds to repair them. But overall, this is a great golf course.
Settlers' Ghost Golf Club
Played On 08/18/2019Greens are too fast
Overall, I used to love this course but for the last month or so the greens have been extraordinarily fast which makes for a very frustrating game. Also, Marshalls come around but don’t do anything about slow non-riding foursomes that hold up scores of players behind them. When we brought this issue to the Marshall he stated that the slowpokes were still “on time” - perhaps they should reevaluate the time it takes to complete each hole or tell the slowpokes to move up a tee box because they were clearly not good golfers. I won’t be going out of my way to golf here until the greens’ speed has become more reasonable.

Played On 08/13/2019Great improvements since the Spring.
There have been many improvements to this course and it is in great shape. New signs and more monitoring by the Marshalls has helped the pace of play. Starters still need to stick to the start times to space out the golfers to avoid congestion.
This is a great course and good value for your money.
Kudos to the management who values their patrons’ suggestions. Well done! Thank you.
Hello. We are beyond happy to hear you enjoyed a great day at our course. Positive experiences make lifelong golfers. We look forward to many good times ahead. We will pass on your kind words to those responsible so they can continue to help others enjoy great experiences at Mayfield.

Played On 06/11/2019Very poor drainage - course saturated with water
This course has the potential to be beautiful but the drainage is awful. No power carts allowed due to swampy conditions - I wish I had known before I booked because it was a difficult walk in soggy conditions. The course is still under construction and I won’t be coming back until I know that it’s in better condition.

Played On 05/22/2019Tee off times are not properly spread apart
I don't think I've ever played this course without having to wait on practically every hole. Some of the patrons are ridiculously slow even when they see that they're holding everyone up.
I wish the Starter would space the tee-offs because it would probably solve this problem. I was not happy today.
I won't golf here again unless I have no other choice.
This spring has been particularly challenging for Mayfield. Excessive rain has led to problems cutting grass, and restricted power cart to the paths--both are a significant reason why play has been slow. Still, I recognize your point regarding slow play: this problem stretches beyond this spring. I would be remiss, therefore, not to personally address this issue. Slow play frustrates everyone, and I do not want to lose customers.
This past winter, I started work on restructuring Mayfield. My goal was to allocate more staff to coordinate play on course. Furthermore, we changed our tee sheet system to give us a greater ability to adjust tee time intervals. Rather than give you a lengthy list of actions currently underway, I invite you to meet with me. I will gladly treat you to lunch and show you how we are genuinely working to address your concerns.

Played On 05/17/2019Lots of work still needed
Some fairways and greens are in rough condition. Construction still ongoing. It may be a while till this course is in really good shape. I’d go back just to get practice rounds in. The greens were very fast and challenging. The staff is very friendly.

Played On 03/26/2019Amazing Staff and beautiful greens
I was visiting Florida for the last month from Canada. I played this course 12 times! Great deals on GolfNow but mostly because the Pro Shop staff (Marcus and the young man with gorgeous blue eyes) and Starters were so amazingly friendly and accommodating. I enjoyed every game and was paired with really nice people. Some of the tee boxes need care and the fairways are a bit dry in areas. But the greens! They’re the best I’ve played while down here. Every hole has its challenges and it’s just a beautiful layout. Clean rest rooms and lots of cold water at select holes along the course.
Thank you, gentlemen, for making my golf vacation so enjoyable. I will recommend this course to anyone who is in the Jacksonville/Green Cove Springs area. It was so worth playing here!

Played On 03/06/2018Very disappointed
For What I paid to play here, I was very disappointed. We were waiting on every hole. The bunkers were as hard as rock and the fairways were dry. I wouldn’t play here again.
North Golf Course at Sun City
Played On 03/03/2018Good value
Fun course but a bit slow-paced as they have fivesomes out often. No marshall and no beer cart. Otherwise, I really liked this course.
Grand Canyon University Golf Course
Played On 02/27/2018Pace of play was horrendous
No marshals monitoring the pace of play. It took 4.45 hours to play 16 holes! When the rain and wind came, while we were waiting for the threesome ahead of the foursome in front of us who were taking their sweet time on a Par 3, we just gave up. If you’re not a good golfer, take some lessons and don’t play from the tips - pick up your ball and move on! Earlier a guy had come around and told US to pick up the pace before he bothered to check the groups in front of us - we had been waiting on every hole - he later came back and apologized to us.
This course is more challenging than it looks. The greens are tricky. If you don’t practice on the putting green you’ll be sorry! 2 or 3 of the greens were not in very good shape. The others were well-maintained.
This was one of my favourite courses in Phoenix but after our experience today I may not return. Do not pay more than $35 - there are better places to play for that much money.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We're glad you found the pace of play during your round excellent. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We are glad to see you also rated the course conditions to be good during your game. Thank you for playing Mayfield Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon.
