Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 02/22/2019Lot of money for this experience
The Valley course has several island greens and no drop zones. If you are not confident about water, this is no fun at all.
The bunkers are deep and the sand was often very hard making play more difficult than necessary.
It is in lovely shape but the pace of play and the delayed start due to lack of carts was extremely unpleasant. In this area, there are other courses to spend this much money on.
Oasis Country Club
Played On 02/10/2019Great challenge -- they could have used a ranger
We like this course because, when people are moving along, it is playable in just over 3 hours. Today we got stuck and really could have used a ranger to help move things along.
Course is always in beautiful condition and staff is friendly. You really have the opportunity to work on specific distance shots and placement. There is no easy green here.
Cimarron Golf Club - Pebble Par-3 Course
Played On 02/01/2019Almost perfect
Cimarron has gotten more and more popular due to great course conditions and reasonable prices. However, they are not prepared for this popularity. In the past two weeks, we've gone to the course early only to be told that we had to wait until just before our tee time to get a cart -- they simply do not have enough carts. Rather than spending time on the putting green or driving range, you spend time hiking up and down the hill checking on your cart.
The starter is really great.
Shadow Mountain Golf Club
Played On 01/13/2015Classic course
This course is playable by an average player and challenging to a good one. Range balls are included in the green fees, so take the time to get there early. It is close to homes and tucked into an older section of the area, so feels well lived in. Greens were a little spotty but overall the course was in good playing condition with well maintained grounds and remarkable cart paths.
Mt. Woodson Golf Club
Played On 8/28/2013Exciting cart paths
The course is very playable for a high handicap woman. The greens are a bit small and generally there was a lot of sand around them giving some access challenges. Lots of hilliness and a few good climbs getting to them. Very scenic.
