Nice Course. Good Value

While many golf courses have jacked up their rates to stupid amounts, Dobson Ranch has kept their green fees at a reasonable rate. Course is very good shape, save for bunkers and tees which can be quite firm (I actually had to use wooden tees). Nice layout that can be challenging, especially the day we played as it was quite windy. Only three sets of tees. White tees, which play at 6200 yds and change (middle tees) can be quite challenging for the high handicapper. Many greens have some undulation and were fast. Putting and chipping facilities. Also golf trac video system (like indoor golf simulator except it is outside). If playing, strongly suggest that you use coloured balls on 9th, 11th and 18th holes as they are very close to the driving range and you will save yourself a lot of time trying to find finding your golf ball. We really enjoy tis course and play it whenever we can.

One of our favourite courses in the area

A bit over 6300 yards from the white tees. Fairways were lush and in great shape. Greens were also in excellent shape and quick. Can be challenging to read. This course can be quite busy. However, the day we played, the pace was great and we completed the round in just a bit over 4 hours. We brought some friends who had never played this course before. They enjoyed it and found it fairly challenging. The only negative that day was that the beverage cart was not operating. At the turn, we went to the bar to get something but they only had a single person working and she looked pretty busy. We couldn't wait so we left. Still, as many other reviewers have said, this is a bargain course. One of our favourite courses in the area.

This course is hot cold

We live in Maricopa and the Duke is our 'home' course. Sometimes this course is in decent shape, other times, it is not. We played here in late April and this is one of those times that it was not in very good shape. The course is of moderate difficulty and resembles a resort style course with generous fairways. Greens were not overly fast, but they were bumpy and several of them appeared burnt. The fairways were tightly cut, but quite firm. Pull carts are not available for rent. Staff are friendly. Drinking water is available on a number of holes on the course and the beverage cart is frequently seen. However, better courses are available at similar or lower rack rates.

Completely Agree Jeff! Although the course is now coming along after the over seed, the price you pay is absolutely way to high for the service(s) you receive at this course! Customer service is lacking starting at the top on down. As my home course and Saguaro membership holder you would expect better treatment from the Foothills golf organization in a number of areas as we support this club and organization on a year round basis.
