Reunion Country Club
Played On 07/22/2023Tough when cart path only
Older folks like me have a tough time dealing with cart path only especially on this type of terrain.. They seem to close the clubhouse Bar and grill down early on Saturday and the drink girl only came around once. I did get my first Ace on the par 3 third. That made it all worth it.

If I have any gripes it would be in having to hit off mats at the driving range, and a lot of balls from there bin need to be thrown out. The practice green is a lot faster than the course greens by about 2feet.

Fairways are wide, forgiving and firm. Well trimmed and remarkably dry considering the amount of rain in the summer weather pattern this year. Their drainage is better than any other course I've played making contact with the ball possible without getting a face full of mud. Greens are well groomed and somewhat soft rolling at about a 9 or 10. The back 9 is a wonderful walking opportunity with short stoles from green to next tee; front 9 has some long walks between greens and next tee. I don't walk because of my knee, but I look forward to the day I can. The only negative I can mention is the driving/practice facilities are small and incomplete (no bunker or pitching practice facilities)
The Chimneys Golf Course
Played On 04/22/2017Geens need work
The greens were still long and sparse and still sandy from the aeration; I can understand that, but what I don't like is when the greens are in that condition the pin placement should be at the most forgiving and easy part of the green...typically right in the middle. I look forward to playing there again after this rain and a good cut on the greens. The two former Navy men I was teamed up with were great to play with; especially since it turned out we all had the same skill level. Semper Fi.

If you play this make sure to pick up a book at the pro shop or you wont know the layout of the holes. It would be nice to have a picture on the score card or at the T-box.
The driving range is superb. I rated good on course conditions because some of the sand traps were shallow and or grainy, but they are improving every time I go. It would be nice to have more than one rake on the very large traps (hole #1)
It is possible to hit a house with a wild shot.DO NOT hit out of someone's yard. Pick it up and take the penalty. I don't think they mind picking up the ball, but property damage and divets in a neighbors yard hurts everyone's reputation.
Bear Creek Golf Club
Played On 11/22/2016Greens and T box
First I want to say I appreciate the friendly atmosphere from both the staff and the patrons of this course. Now for the greens. I played here about a month ago when the leaves first started falling and was very disappointing. I had to rake a pathway through the leaves to put to the hole. Not so this last game; the greens were clean, but could have used some rolling. I found them a little inconsistent with regard to their slickness. The T-boxes almost seem to be a work in progress, especially difficult on the par 3 holes, but they do have signs of fertilizer, so I'm sure the GK is working on them. I'm looking forward to the Toys for Tots scramble tournament, and will likely play there again today.
