When we arrived we saw a newly framed structure where the clubhouse was before. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and there was temporary accommodations for everything but the porto-john was still a little scary. The course has gotten consistently better over the last year but still some greens are not completely recovered. There were also some bunkers under repair. The course is fun and challenging enough from the appropriate tee boxes. The cost was a little higher than I would expect for this time of year and the overall corse condition and temporary conditions but we had fun and I would still do it again.

This is a fun course to play. It has wide fairways but it is not a simple course by any means. It is long enough to challenge most level players and the layout will stop even the long ball player from bringing it to it's knees. The course is always in good shape and I try to play this tract many times per year. Staff is very friendly and prices will make it an easy decision to drive from Hilton Head Island out to the course. I will be back for another round.

The course was in great shape and the greens were rolling great. That doesn't mean I made all the putts but ball ball took all the breaks you could read and then some. Fairways need a little work but most fairways do this time of year. All in all, this was a great morning round that I played in under 3 hours!

I have long been a fan of Dolphin Head's layout. Now that it is no longer a private club, I expected the conditions to be diminished. That was not
the case. The course was in excellent shape, the group I was paired with were wonderful and the staff could not have been friendlier. If you have a chance ... book a round at this course.

It would have been nice to know that it was cart path only and the course was almost unplayable. I had a prepaid tee time that was unable to be changed so I played. I have played the course several times before and I like the layout under normal conditions and the staff is always great and helpful. This was an anomaly and I will book again when it is dried out!

This course seems to be a well kept secret in the Hilton Head area. It is just 30 minutes off the Island but it seems to be underused. We have lot's of family and friends visit us every year and they always make Hilton Head Lakes a part of the experience. This is a fun and semi forgiving track from the white tees but you will get all the challenge you could want as you move to any of the back tees. My suggestion would be, when all the tourists fight for a crowded round on or just off the Island, try playing this Gem approx 30 minutes away.
