Definitely not the course it used to be
The place is falling apart fast and either needs to get sold or close up shop. All the tee boxes were horrible and being a dominantly par 3 course it’s not like they have loads of fairway to keep up so you would at least expect the tee box and greens to be decent. Tons of weeds and overgrown grass plus mud. Even a good shot was still a bad lie. I played here maybe 5 years ago and remember it being so much better and fun. I guess at $20 you have to temper your expectations a bit but I definitely won’t be back if something doesn’t change. Also doesn’t help that the person running the shop doesn’t know how pre paying on golf now works. Tried to charge me and was adamant I didn’t pay even though I showed him the email that also shows the charge.
Villa de Paz Golf Course
Played On 12/28/2013Will never go back
Started out the day thinking i would get i would get a good reasonable priced round of golf in off a hot deal but boy was i wrong. it all started with initially arriving to head that they are 30 minutes behind on tee times (likely to bad scheduling or other things) which is understandable... to a degree. What was also understandable is getting paired as well which does not bother me except when i made it clear i had my brother with me as a ride along fresh after the holidays he was staying at my house and got the smug remark of "thats not my problem he can walk then" from the older man at the desk (not sure of his relevance to the course if he just works or is in management). So that already left me with a bad taste in my mouth but where it really took off was the pace of play. We were constantly waiting with how stacked they had it and the 2 groups in front of us were playing a skins game comepleting slowing the pace and causing a stack up of players on tee boxes, i would also like to add that one of the employees was taking part in this play and was part of the problem. in an hour we had only covered 2 holes and were waiting on the 3rd tee box when the twosome i was grouped with called the clubhouse and got offered a refund so they left. i decided to leave and do the same and thats where the fun came in. I got back to the clubhouse where the sameperson who oh so kindly addressed my ride along situation also handled my request for the same refund as my group at the same time of issuing theirs. I was told that I was not going to be reimbursent for a lot of bogus reasons. First being cause i paid online he couldnt do a rain check or a reimbursement which isunderstandable to not reimburse but not to not give a round of play back. Second he tried to BS with saying well its a twlight tee time to its just play what you can and try to finish so he wasnt in control of that. It was not a twilight tee time, we were a 12:00am tee time that got pushed to 12:45 because of their establishment not my choice and even then it still wasnt a twilight time. At this point i got fed up and left after paying for a 18 hole tee time to only play 2 and get rejected for a rain check or reinbursement of sorts because i couldnt wait fo finish at a pace of 7+ hours. Will never go back here and strongly advise against going to this course. Save the money and headache and go to one of the other surrounding courses that are in the same price range.
