Pines at Woodmont Country Club
Played On 04/03/2019Disappointed
Overall rating here is only average. There is plenty of water here which leads to shots being carried over water. The course design is interesting and challenging to play. The course conditions are less than ideal. The grass (?) on the fairways is sparse with lots of weeds present. The tee boxes were similar. The greens were quick because they were skinned with little grass present. This could be a great course if an investment was made to improve the conditions I just mentioned. Until improvements are made, this will remain a 2-3 star golf course. The pace of play was great on the front nine but slowed to a snail’s pace on the back nine. No rangers were present and the staff gave no explanation for the slow play.

I played this course maybe 10 years ago. I was disappointed with the conditions of the course today. The layout is very good and fun to play . Water comes into play on a number of holes so course management is a premium when you play. The condition of the greens is fair to good and your ball rolls well and true. The fairways and tee boxes are fair at best. There are many weeds and bare spots. The course needs some TLC for these areas. The bunkers are inconsistent; some are soft and have fluffy sand while others are hard with little sand. My value to the dollars I paid was fair since I had a discounted rate. This could be a very good course if additional money was spent in maintaining and improving the condition of the tees and fairways.

Think of this: 2 hours and 45 minutes for 9 HOLES!!! Never saw a ranger. How could anybody recommend a course that doesn't care about pace of play?
Kings Ridge Golf Club - Kings Course
Played On 03/14/2017Enjoyed playing here
We found that Kings Ridge was a very good golf experience. The fairways had grass on them (no bare spots, no weeds). They were nicely mowed and in excellent condition. The greens were in excellent condition and rolled true. The bunkers were well maintained and edged. A couple if the tee boxes needed some work, but that didn't detract from the overall condition of the course. The entire staff from the starter to the clubhouse were very friendly and helpful. We were paired up with a couple from Ottowa and we had a great time. We are going back to play here again next week. I would definitely recommend that you play this course. P.S. I had a hole in 1 on #4 which made my golf experience even better.
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 03/07/2017Course needs TLC
From the first tee, it was obvious that very little attention was given to this course. There was very little grass on any part of this course. The tees had large areas of no grass, only dirt. Most fairways had sparse areas of grass and lots of weeds. It was also difficult to differentiate between fairways and rough. There were many areas where the fairways had only dirt. The grass on the greens had bare spots with dirt and weeds intermingled with the grass. When the beverage cart came, the price for a 12oz can of soda was $3.00 and a small bag of chips was $3.00. If you want to spend 4+ hours on the weeds and dirt this is the place for you. If you want to play golf, there are many better places to choose.
Pine Lakes Golf Club
Played On 12/03/2016Slow play nightmare
We threw up our hands in disgust after only 9 holes. It took 2.5 + to play 9 holes. We left after 9 holes. There were 3 foursomes ahead of us playing in a "tournament". One of the players ahead of us took a 14 on a par 3. The so called ranger did nothing to keep the pace of play remotely reasonable. If you like 5+ hour rounds if golf, then this is the place for you. We will not be going back to Pine Lakes anytime soon.
Palm Harbor Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2016Good course, but
We enjoyed the layout of the course. There were some interesting and challenging holes. The overall condition of the course was fair and the greens were below average (bare spots , lots of sand, aeration holes that haven't filled in). The pace of play was about 4.5 hours which is probably to be expected during the busy season. I would give the course another chance but I hope the maintenance staff puts some time and money into improving the greens.
