Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club
Played On 09/06/2020A favorite course to play
The course is in great condition considering the very dry summer that we have had, The greens putt quick and true, a pleasure to putt on.
The staff made me welcome as usual and strict Covid rules where in place, but you could still get a beer on the course
Play was a little over 4 hours but not ridiculously slow for a Sunday afternoon.
Overall a very pleasant afternoon of golf.
Mount Dora Golf Club
Played On 12/04/2018Surprised
After some of the reports that I had seen on this course I was pleasantly surprised when I came to play it I was impressed with the way that the changes in elevation had been used. . A lot of work has been done and is still being done to the course since the hurricane and even today they where busy digging tree roots out from the trees that had been felled. The biggest negative was the speed of the greens they are very slow but overall great value for the money I will certainly play again
Bridgewater Country Club
Played On 06/16/2018Great Course for all levels of play
Played here the last couple of weekends, it is well worth the 40 min drive to get there. Staff are always great, they even started me off the back nine so as not to play behind a tournament and this weekend even though both dinning rooms were packed, service at the bar was excellent.
The course plays very well, the greens run at a good speed, but some of the traps could use some new sand.
But my overall impression is that this is a club with a great atmosphere and a good sociable membership.
Legends on the Niagara Golf Course - Ussher's Creek
Played On 09/03/2017After The Rain
After a very wet morning I decided to take a chance and arrived almost an hour before my Tee off time, The starter told me that I could Tee off immediately if I wished, as there had been several "no shows" due to the weather, More fool them!
In-spite of some very ominous clouds, no rain 72 deg and just a very gentle breeze, Perfect !!!
I completed the course in just under 2 1/2 hrs incl. a quick stop and only saw one other group on the course, I commented to myself at one point how lucky to have my own private golf course...
To add to this I broke 80 so that just added to a very enjoyable experience.
The greens being wet where very receptive and of course they always run true.
Being 70 yrs old I prefer to play Ushers Creek rather than Battlefield as the forced carries over the bunkers on Battlefield make it harder for me to play, and I still like to play at least 6000yrds of a course.
With the deals on Golf Now This is one of my favorite venues and I look forward to the next time.
Thank you very much and we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Bridgewater Country Club
Played On 08/13/2017Slick
Played just after the Club Championship so some difficult but fair pin positions and very speedy greens.
As usual the course was in great condition though a couple of traps could use a little more sand.
The staff are great and I must recommend a sandwich at the half way house for 8 bucks it is more than a meal and is well prepared.
I was happy, first time under 80 this year added to the day.
I will be back again soon..
Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
Played On 08/08/2015Disapointed this time
Having played here on several occasions I was very disappointed with the condition of the greens and sand traps .
This course can be quite penal to misplaced shots but the poor quality of the traps and the poor putting surface this time made it very difficult to score well.
We notice that some of the pin positions where crowned suggesting that the green staff had not used a plate when cutting the hole..
While the bang for the buck is still quite good the course needs some TLC..
Bridgewater Country Club
Played On 07/18/2015Second Time
Welcomed in the usual friendly manner, directed to the range while I waited 40mins for my time, others did not show and I was advised that the two members wished to play by themselves, so I was put out on my own, but I played a quick 8 holes before I caught up a 5 some, hoping that they would take a break at nine I stayed back but they continued onto ten, where I was joined by another single, I complained to one of the staff on 13 who instructed them to let us play thru, which they did begrudgingly on 14.
This spoiled what would have been an enjoyable round, but in spite of this delay the round was completed in 3 1/2 hrs.
It was the day after some heavy rains, what else is new this year in southern Ontario, so there where still some wet areas and sign's of damage, the greens where in good shape and putted well, because of my age I was advised by the starter to play the white tees but several of these showed signs of wear, when the young man joined me on the back we played the blue tees that where in much better condition.
Overall a good day for the price on Golf Now.
Port Colborne Country Club
Played On 06/13/2015Great Value
Played later in the day, pro shop was very accommodating, putting us off on the quieter back nine, so we never had to wait on a shot.
Course is contoured amongst mature trees but has virtually no water hazards other than the many drainage ditches.
It is a very flat course so it would lend itself to an easy walking course.
The greens ran true though one or two where hard to read but overall in good shape.
I did not hit a sand trap so I must assume that there are not that many on the course.
There was a large wedding on in the clubhouse so we could not use it, but they where very accommodating again in opening the halfway house just after it had closed to serve us, Thanks guys for that.
Overall a very pleasant afternoon of golf on one of the better courses in the Niagara region, I just wished that I lived closer and it would become my home course.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 9/13/2013A good playable course for the average golfer
We arrived 40 mins prior to our time and were put out immediately, pro shop dealt with us quickly and the starter just told us to tee off as soon as we where ready.
The course was very well maintained and pace of play was very good as not many people wanted to play in 93 f temperatures.
The facilities where very clean and the bar welcoming.
I would recommend this course to any level of golfer, but would suggest that you try to arrive early as it is a long drive through the development to the club house, almost 10 mins..
Twenty Valley Golf and Country Club
Played On 7/21/2013played 48 hours after a major storm
This is one of my favorite courses to play in the Niagara region,
I am always well received by the staff and the cart is tagged and ready to go more than an hour before the allotted tee time.
On this occasion I played less than 48 hrs after a major storm had swept thru the area, the damage to trees etc. was widespread and most of the bunkers where washed out, but in spite of the huge amount of rain that had fallen the rest of the course was very well groomed and the greens putted perfectly.
If you are in the Vineland-Niagara area I highly recommend that you play Twenty Valley...
Willodell Golf Club of Niagara
Played On 06/05/2013Good Greens, well maintained course, large modern clubhouse
Arrived just in time due to traffic delays, but was warmly welcomed and sent immediately to the first tee, and was off within 5 mins, this course has a starter that is pleasant and informative as are all the staff here.
Course is pretty much straight away with most trouble visible but some hazards could be better marked . A suggestion would be to have a hole map at each tee as there are a couple of blind tee shots and lay up shots especially on the back nine.
The bunkers and greens where in great condition, the latter putting very evenly though a couple of them have a fair amount of slope to them.
While the course starts relatively easily the closing holes require both distance and accuracy to have any chance of making par.
Overall a very enjoyable course to play and the staff in both the pro shop and the restaurant make for a great experience.
Thanks Chuck and staff
I will definitely be back to play
Whirlpool Golf Course
Played On 5/30/2013Certainly one of the better courses in the area to play.
Friendly staff had us on the first tee bang on time, pro shop explained that greens had been aerified two weeks prior, but where almost 100% ( we had had a very cool spring ) ,
Condition was good as is normal here with a little sign of the aeration remaining.
The pace of play was good on the front nine, but a twosome was sent off on the back just as we turned the nine, and as one of the players was walking they did slow us somewhat on the back. ( also they played from Gold blocks with a Red blocks swing ). we still finished the course in 4 hrs 20 mins.
The food at this course is exceptional and priced very reasonable and you have a great view of the 18 hole from the patio
Overall a great day out even though the constant noise of the Helitours is a little annoying..
The course is handle the year of amazingly unique weather and a boom in the industry. Thanks for coming and helping us to expose that we truly are niagara's premier golf destination
