Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 04/19/2018Just bad all around.
I have played this course over the past years and found that the course has consistently gone down hill. First of all the saving grace on this course were the greens which used to be in top condition, now as of 4/20/2018, they are the worst I have ever seen. There wasn't a single hole that was in top notch condition. They were burned, bare batches, diseased grass, and even small holes. I think the course has new owners who are sucking the life out of the course.
The practice green is even worse. The price should tell you something. It was $17.00. I wonder why?
Swiss Fairways Golf Course
Played On 04/02/2018Great Layout
The course reminds me of New England course as there are rolling hills and fairways. No two holes are the same and on two of the par 3's there is a warning to to allow the ski-towing boats to pass before teeing off.Quite unusual and very interesting.
The course itself was in very good shape;, however the greens were in poor condition with many bare spots. My rating would have been better were it not for the poor condition of the greens.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 12/11/2017Very bad greens
This course has a wonderful layout. It is varied and requires good course management and shot placement. Off fairway shots are punished with lost balls as the deep grass totally hides any trace of balls. The course is also surrounded on almost every hole with water hazards which are in play, especially on the longer tees.
Definitely not a beginner's course but the fairways are generous in width. One really awful problem is the condition and play of the greens. They are absolutely in bad condition with bare spots, disease and non-flatness. Many of the tee boxes were in bad condition as well. It is too bad as this would be a premium course with the correction of the condition of the greens, tee boxes and cutting of the tall grass.
Oaks Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 11/06/2017Pace of play
I have played this course several times this past year and this is the first time where the pace of play was horrible. I was behind a couple and in front of them was a senior ladies 3 group and in front of them was another senior ladies 3 group. All were local players since they had their own carts. Had to wait to play on almost every hole from 5 to 10 minutes .
Not once did a Marshall come along to speed up play. The ladies groups made absolutely no effort to speed up play. As such, the round was extremely frustrating. I almost left at the start of the back nine. As a matter of fact, the couple in front of me left after the 13th hole. But the pace hardly improved. I blame the management for not providing a Marshall for the number of people who were playing the course.
I am unlikely to go back since this is the beginning of peak season.
Remington Golf Club
Played On 07/24/2017Played this course for the first time. The t-boxes were horrible. The fairways were poorly cut. The bunkers were the worst I have ever seen. They were totally uncared for and there was grass growing in them. The greens had some weeds growing on some of them. It was difficult telling where the fairway was and the second cut. Grass was about 2 to 4 inches tall. Lost several balls off the fairway because of tall grass.
This is a sad excuse for a golf course. In its heyday this was a beautiful course. It is too bad the management has absolutely no pride in the upkeep of this course. Is is painfully obvious that they are not spending any funds in its proper upkeep.
Don't play here. You will be sorry and it will be a waste of your money, no matter how cheap it is.
