The greens are slow. It's basically impossible to get a flat lie anywhere on the course. If you're not hitting the ball perfectly you will not have fun, it is frustrating. All of the staff are VERY FRIENDLY but there are other courses to play that are more fun for the casual, intermediate golfer.

The greens need some work. They have some dirt patches. I enjoy the layout. Not busy at all on the day we played so went fast.

It's hard to believe the pro tour used to play here. This course is OK but not awesome by any stretch. The course is still in bad shape in many places but is better than other Greensboro courses at the moment due to the winter kill. What's funny is an employee asked me to keep the wheels of my cart off the grass on my tee box while his "worker cart" was parked RIGHT BESIDE a green (on the grass). Other areas around the course are just dirt and mud. If there is a next time, I'll take pics to post. And, the sprinklers were on while we were playing on about 4 holes. I honestly don't think they should charge more than $30 to play here.

I love the lay out of Greensboro National. It's fun to play and very fair. However, the greens continue to be hairy, slow, and difficult to putt. If the greens on this course could ever be brought up to a championship level then in my opinion this would be the best course in the Greensboro area.

overall the course is in need of attention, especially the greens. The greens are in bad shape, lots of bare spots, divots, and the greens that do have grass are "hairy". Clearly they are having a hard time keeping them playable. Other areas of the course are also poorly manicured. Tire trenches in the rough. I would not recommend playing this course unless you get a really good deal and just want to hit it around and not worry about your putting.
