Weather was finally below 90 degrees with a light breeze.
Course was in great condition, as usual.
As a single, one never knows how the players I'm paired with will be compatible, but we all seemed to be about the same skill level and played from the same tees.
Pace was a little slow, but picked up on the back nine.
Overall it was an enjoyable round.

I've played several courses in the Carson City area over the years, but had never heard of this course. It is a links style course, that has H2O and blind shots. Fairways are quite wide, but not having someone that has played the course B4 is a handicap.
I was told that the course is still recovering from flooding a few years ago, but all but a couple of holes are in good shape. Greens had been sanded a week or so prior, but still rolled fairly true.
If I lived in the area I would play there on a regular basis.

For a course that is Semi-Private, I was shocked and disappointed at how little grass there was on the fairways. Tees and greens were in good shape, but it seemed like they had let the fairways die out and just started to water again. More dirt than grass or even weeds.

I wouldn't recommend this course until they get the fairways back into normal conditions.

I was surprised that the course was not more crowded, until I got on the course. The tee boxes and greens were in good shape, but what little grass that was on the fairways was very sparse. Even the clumps of grass were so small that moving the ball to them didn't help much.
I don't know why the fairways are so bare, but I would be very upset if I was a member.

Five hour rounds on a Thursday PM is ridiculous.
No course marshal or whatever they are called these days. The problem was 2 groups ahead of us and apparently they didn't offer to let people play through. Se basically waited on every shot for the entire round.

Even after checking in at the course, we were not told that there was a 1st Tee tournament ahead of us. We caught up with them on the second fairway and waited on every shot for the rest of the front 9. This was the youngest group, so luckily they only played 9. On the 12th hole we caught up with the older kids and even though we had to wait a couple of times it was much better.

I didn't expect as many forced carries and blind doglegs on a "resort" course. If I hadn't been playing with a friend that has played the course several times, I would have had a much higher score.
The windy conditions also contributed to the difficulty.

Fairways starting to grow in since playing a few weeks ago. It was almost bare ground then.
Always one of the toughest courses, but wind didn't help.

Course was in usual great condition, although I knew in advance that the greens had been recently punched.
Recent rains had softened the fairways, but otherwise the course was in pristine condition.

The last time I played this course was in 1971, so it's been a while.
I don't remember the course being as undulating, and, of course, the trees were much smaller.
We used to walk the course, usually on a Monday, because the course allowed pastors to play for free on Mondays.
The course was in decent condition as long as you played from the fairways. The roughs were pretty much weedy clover and in bloom so finding a ball in the sea of white is difficult. The greens however, were in great shape
If playing from the white or blue tees, be prepared for long par 3s (180-223 yards).

Our area received much needed rain for a few hours overnight, but by noon the rain had stopped. However, the course was pretty much deserted until about the time I finished my round. I didn't catch up to anyone until
the 10th. They let me play through and I didn't see another person in front of me.
The fairways were damp, but not sloppy so the ball didn't roll a lot and the many sand traps were wet with a few puddles still.
Overall, it was very enjoyable for a solitary round.

Hadn't played this course in a couple of years, but introduced a friend to the course. This course was chosen partially because we expected high temperature and some wind, and the trees and layout provide better protection from both than most other courses in the area.
Other than being hampered by slow play the last 4 holes, we had a great day on the course.

Light wind to start, but got very gusty on back 9.
No sand on the cart, and refill box near bathroom was empty, so couldn't refill divots properly.

Usually only play this course when my adult kids are in town, as they don't play much and this course gives them a chance to get a few good holes.
However, I haven't been able to play for 7 months due to having open-heart surgery, and this course doesn't demand hitting long clubs except on 4 or 5 holes. Good for getting the "short" game back in shape.
