No value left for this course

Broad Run is a great layout and challenging course. It's just crazy how Byler Golf Mgmt is getting away with charging these prices in the Winter/Spring shoulder season.. They artificially inflate their rates with "Dynamic Pricing" which doesn't make any sense. I played with a member and the rate was still $90, for a Saturday in the shoulder season, lol. It's honestly cheaper to join as a member play 20 times and make your money's worth. This is a nice public course, but not worth those kind of price. Either go fully private or get more realistic with actual greens fees.

For that kind of money during this season it should be pristine. Boxes were decent, some greens were in perfect shape, others it looked like 0 work was done to make them consistent with the others. Idk where the extra money is going to if the course isn't pristine.

What's happened to Public Golf?

Another once great public course down the tubes. Used to play here all the time, and I would agree it was a top course in PA and in the area, but no idea what has happened. Greens were choppy, half grass half mud, tee boxes just absolutely shredded from the tips, I'm sure the blue and white tees were the same.

Bunkers not maintained at all, rough was mostly mud around the greens, really disappointing for once was a really great public course. The layout and views are great, which is why people still play here, but was really disappointed.

If they're charging $100+ for primetime tee times, I have 0 idea where the money is going since it's not going to course maintenance. We paid $70 at twilight on a Monday, and that was too much for the course. I'd pay a max of $50 for this course in its current shape and condition. Another once great public course bites the dust.... will not be back.

Course is going Downhill Fast

Used to play here all the time when I lived closer in the area, back in 2015-2017, course was always in great shape, greens, fairways, teeboxes, etc. Now every year when I come back to play here, it's always something. Course had a 20 minute frost delay, which is fine I understand that, but then for the round to take 5.5 hours after that is unacceptable. Had to call the pro shop to get it to speed it. We had one person leave our group due to the time. Greens were bumpy, choppy around the pins, dead spots on the greens and fairways, teeboxes torn to shreds.

For $80, that is a ripoff, if the course was charging in the $50 price range that would be the max I would pay for the course. The best fairway and green was the driving range and the practice green. Everything else was sub-par. Probably my last time playing the course.

Solid Course

I'm in Bucks county, so there aren't too many options for solid public golf. Charleston Springs - North Course, was i thought one of the better kept public courses in the area.

There were a few greens that were protected by the shade, so they were a little more soggy and beat up, but I thought all of the greens were firm and true. Tee boxes from the tips were in good shape as well.

Definitely walkable as the course is pretty flat, there are a few holes with some solid distance in between tee boxes, but overall mostly flat and not too hilly. Greens fees was $52 and cart $17, so if you want to save money on the round and are able to walk, I'd recommend.

Will be coming back for sure!

Walked

Course condition sub par

Have played Downingtown several times in the past. I was not impressed for the $60 price tag. I'd play this course for max $45. I played the Black tees, and the tee boxes were like hitting out of the rough and not well maintained.

Fairways also felt like the first cut of rough. Thankfully the greens were in decent shape. The course had double booked several tee times resulting in a 30 minute delay in tee time from 3:30 to 4.

I'd recommend walking this course instead of paying the extra $ for the cart.

Got ripped off

I was just trying to sneak 9 holes in before the long weekend. Was charged $40 for 9 holes at 6:30 on a weekday. When I said I don't think that charge is right, the young kid behind the counter did not know what to do. I've played 18 holes there for the same price. Secondly, he the starters, guys at the carts failed to mention that the entire course had been aerated. Teeboxes , fairways, greens. Besides that, it was the worst shape I've seen it in a few years. Unable to hit any putts as the greens were sandy and freshly aerated. Will not go back here the rest of the year.

Pace of play disaster

Living in Philly this is an easy convenient course to get to. I have been coming here for a few years now. Seems like the same time every year the course just gets into bad shape and pace of play just gets worse. Tee boxes were bad from whites, decent from blues. Pace of play was about 5 hours and 10 minutes for a Sunday afternoon round. The starters and rangers were nice, but weren't really doing anything about it. Looked like a lot of first time players were out there, but not keeping pace. Fairways and rough were in good shape.

Still a challenging course, but pace of play tee boxes and greens need to be in better shape to warrant the higher price point. I will be back but hoping for better pace of play and greens to be in better shape.

Not worth the Trip

I only had read good things about this course but I was highly disappointed. The staff in the pro shop was cold to us, and I think took offense to us booking a hot deal on Golf Now. We paid 45$ and that would definitely be the max for the course. Greens were inconsistent and the tee boxes were choppy.

I would come out and play again if I could play it for 45$ or under. Way nicer courses in the area for comparable pricing. The area around the greens were pretty tough too with half dirt/mud and half grass.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. Our pro shop staff are very attentive and normally receive rave reviews.

As for the course, you probably played after one fo the several 2-in rain storms that flooded us this spring. I think you will find things much improved now. Our course has also been getting excellent reviews for its conditions.
On you next visit please ask to speak with me, Matt, before you tee off. Thanks.

Not worth the money

I am a resident of Lower Makefield Township, so even with the discounted rate, they charge me 41$ for twilight 9 holes... A non resident would have paid close to 60$ for 9 holes and a cart. Not worth the primetime money. Greens looked beat up. I have seen the course in better condition. I'd say max to play here would be 50$ for 18 holes.

Overpriced for sure

Played a round here this past weekend. Back tees are only 5700 yards. I didn't use my driver the whole round. Course conditions were great, but paying 62 bucks for a shorter course is crazy. I mean you can play Glen Mills for 68 bucks. Most holes you aren't rewarded for good tee shots trying to cut all the dog legs. I'd probably play again, but not for $62 and for accuracy off the tee with 4 and 5 irons.

Not worth the prime-time pay

Have played here over 20 times to living close by, but this was the worst I have seen the course in quite some time. Definitely not worth the prime time rate. Get it via a hot deal or discounted rate. Really isn't worth more than maybe 50$ to play here. Never anyone to speed up pace of play, almost took 5 hours. Will play again since it is a decently challenging fun course, but hoping it gets in better shape.

Great course. Played Friday evening, teed off around 445 and finished by 830. Great pace of play, greens were rolling true. With all the hazards grown out it makes it much more challenging to keep your ball in play.

Definitely recommend, usually great deals on golf now.

idk

Course was in great shape. Fairways and greens were in phenomenal shape. Pace of pllay was decent, but we were able to pass a three some that looked like it was their first time golfing. A lot of interesting holes, we played from the blues and it was pretty challenging. I would definitely recommend this course at a golf now price. I don't think I would pay the 80$ price tag on the weekend.

Cranbury 8/29/15 round

Showed up 20 minutes early, for our tee time of 10:20. We didn't tee off until 11 oclock... I'm not sure how it got backed up that much.. But no one working there seemed to care, or do anything about it. I didn't realize it was that much of a hacker course, because our round took 5 hours. Horrible pace of play. Course conditions were ok, nothing great, but not horrible.

I wouldn't recommend this course to a friend.

There was an outing going on at the course so i expected the round to be a little bit slower, but it almost ended up being a 6 hour round. I think it took about 5 and a half hours.. Other than the pace of play being very slow, the course was in great condition, and was very fun to play. I would recommend to a friend to go on a weekday, rather than a weekend.

Great Course

I booked a hot deal through Golf Now and there was no problems with the tee time and getting everything ready for the round. Course was in good shape. Tee boxes for the most party were pretty flat, only a few holes had a little bit more wear and tear. Course did look a little dry, but that actually helped in shot distances.

I would recommend this course. It is pretty challenging, and the 14th hole island green is a fun tough, challenging hole.
