Blakes Golf Club
Played On 06/03/2020Inlands Links style not in good shape
Inlands Links style, with an easy walk.
Sadly most of the greens were diseased with bare patches, they could also do with watering very dry. Also the fairways weren't in good shape? All the Bunkers were GUR. We pay £10 for a 11:30am midweek tee time I wouldn't pay anymore.

Overall the course is in good nick and a good layout. The only problem is some of the bunkers are hard and the tee boxes are uneven.

Mature parkland course. With undulating fairways, some tight holes with O/B’s, doglegs and undulating greens with some super 'driving' holes. Fairways, bunkers & greens were quick non receptive greens. Practise putting green, large chipping area, driving nets & friendly staff. Sadly no ball washers at the Tees

The course starts off gentle then you come to 13,14,15,16 17th Watery Grave. It’s an Open parkland course. With some undulating fairways & greens, some guarded by water near the end. The whole course had a nice design too it, Fairway & green good just little woolly. Friendly staff. Sadly no practise nets.
Canons Brook Golf Club
Played On 04/02/2017Good test definitely worth playing
The first 15 holes are Medium/Open fairways with the last 3 holes having tighter fairways. Some of the fairways were undulating with water hazards, course management comes into play, The course had a nice design. Fairways, bunkers & greens were true and all in good condition. I found the course very testing course because of the undulating ground and the design. Definitely worth playing. Value for money basic on TOT.

Abridge Golf & Country Club
Played On 12/30/2016One of the best I’ve played in Essex.
This course is one of the best I’ve played in Essex.
Mature tree line parkland course with undulating fairways with firm, fast & true greens in superb condition & bunkers, with some super 'driving' holes.
Your course management will have to be at its best as there are plenty of doglegs right & left,
You also have to take an extra club when approaching the greens as many are elevated, too short and you have an awkward pitch shot too long and the same.
Value for the money is base on TOT price £14.
Club price of £40 during the week it makes it a bit pricey.
You have to play this course at least once you won’t regret it....
Club house & pro shop had friendly staff, with practise chipping, putting green, driving range.
Sort of course I definitely be a member
