The Club at Rebecca Creek
Played On 07/17/2020Rough check-in this time here
Never had a check-in issue before at this course, however, this time there was a check in individual with his own set of rules. I was not allowed to even check in until exactly 15 min before tee off time. (never happened with any other check in personnel) This meant I could not load my clubs & take them over to the warm up on the range. (I.m 72 1/2 YO) I needed to carry my own clubs over to the driving range to warm up ( I arrived 1.5 hours early for just this purpose.) It appears that because I was a Golf Now patron & the person that was match to play with me was also was the fundamental reason (this particular starter) treated us this way. When we matched up at the tee box he voiced very similar astonishment to my own at how he had been treated by the check in person , i.e., he was not a happy camper either.
By way of questioning the check in person as to why he had taken this course of action I stated.
1; I had played at this course several times in the past, including just the one week prior & had never been treated like this. I also mentioned that I had played approximately 60 rounds over the past 10 years under the same arrangements & never experienced a situation like this. He seemed very confused & skeptical of what I was saying. I would really like to see the managers set a policy that everyone knows & follows. Also, they need to explain that CHECKING IN means your letting them know you are at the course, but it does not mean you are going to ignore your tee time slot & run out on their golf course & do anything you darn well please. Enough said.
It has been brutally hot here (100 - 108 starting in July) & no measurable rain since June 5th . So the course is rather dry & hard but that doesn't put a damper on enjoying the course design with all its challenges. Great for intermediate & senior players.
This course has come a long way in design & maturity over the past 5 yrs It has a lot to offer families. The owners deserve high five.

Both the greens & fairways have improved since playing here approx. 3 years ago. I previously played within 5 days of the reopening after the makeover. Although many of the greens do not appear difficult they have subtle variations that must be learned to be conquered. I loved the tees that required clearing a hazard before the fairway continued. They force you to play golf rather than smash & hope.

To be fair this golf course was almost completely destroyed & run into the ground by the previous owner(s). The new owners are trying to restore it to it's original condition; however, it has a very long way to go on the golf courses. The fairways I played rate at 5-6 out of 10. The 18 greens that I played (14) rated 0 (zero) out of 10, (2) rated 5 out of 10 & (2) rated 8 out of 10. The two courses (Lakes & Valley) I played of the three courses (the third course was closed for repairs) should have temporary greens opened on 16 holes until theses 16 are completely replaced & able to be put back into service. The price to play is v. excessive.
Ranch Golf Course at Pole Creek Golf Club
Played On 9/19/2012Pleasant environment, very challenging
Course was in good condition: however, my biggest problem (first time player) was neither the score card or hole markers consistently showed the proper yardages. They were in constant conflict with each other. I was not advised of this circumstance or which had priority & it made play very frustrating. Also a few diagrams of the holes were significantly off, i.e., #6 on the Meadows a hole with an offset fairway 1/2 way thru play.
