Far Grange Park & Golf Club - Main Course
Played On 04/23/2021Far Grange
Interesting course in excellent condition. Greens best I’ve played this year. Very wide fairways with small greens. A very fair test. A lot of trees of identical size. Some holes on front 9 quite featureless but back 9 good (2 overlooking the sea). First hole dogleg round practice area is a bit disappointing but otherwise the course is well laid out with some nice lakes. Not a well-known course but much better than I expected. Definitely worth a return visit.

5 minute walk to the first tee. 6129yds off the yellows & par 72 (37:35). First 9 particularly long. A decent course & well worth playing with its signature 18th hole with lake behind and severe dog-leg. Otherwise It is a bit featureless and lacking in character. The greens had been treated & clearly not watered so these weren’t great. The rest of the course was fine but not exceptional. All bunkers were without sand and were GUR. Good value with Golf Now discount.

Very mature course dating back to 1910. 27 holes. Generally in excellent condition for mid October. Greens really good. .Found the course layout a bit odd with several adjacent tees. But a very enjoyable parkland course and well worth playing.
Aldwark Manor Estate Golf
Played On 08/12/2020Quirky but fun
Very nice hotel for 19th hole. We had enjoyable food and drinks after. Course is very short at start with easy first 9 but long, challenging second 9. Condition generally fine. Hole 3 not playable and hole 15 on Winter green due to building work at hotel. Hole 4 off Winter tee. Overall course a bit quirky but with some attractive holes. Very quiet with small number of players.
Scarborough South Cliff Golf Club
Played On 08/05/2017Scarborough Fair
Scarborough South Cliff GC is close to the renowned Oliver's Mount motorcycle track on the south side of the glorious seaside town. The first few holes are parkland before crossing a road and a bridge to tackle the cliff-top holes looking north towards Scarborough and the castle. All the holes are different. It's par 72 with 4 straightforward par 5s, but not unduly long. There are a couple of tricky out-of-bounds on the left, including the 18th overlooked by nice houses, but the course is fair and not too demanding for average golfers. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will certainly play there again.
