FarmLinks at Pursell Farms
Played On 03/05/202217 Holes, Lots of Divots on Greens, Very slow
The total experience was a letdown. To charge full price to play 17 holes with tons of course work going on was not ok considering other courses are less and in better shape. Staff was friendly enough. Our cart ran out of gas and had to be switched out after 10 holes. The course runs behind because of the par 3's, they are the best part of the course, but it takes a lot of time for many to play them. we played in 5 hours and 30 min due to a several group back up ahead of us.
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club
Played On 03/30/2021Greens are in bad shape
Sand based course with no real fairway definition. The greens are the worst I've ever seen. They could be really good with some TLC over the next 2 years.
Stoatin Brae at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 10/12/2020Good course but over priced
Course has extremely wide fairways and big fast greens. Greens are the best thing about the course. Driving range was in the worst shape of any I've played this year.
Sunset Valley Golf Club
Played On 09/11/2020Great Course, Beautiful fast Greens
First time playing. Will definitely be back. Greens are best around.

Played On 09/11/2020Just Ok
First time playing this course. The person at the front desk was kind of rude, not wearing a mask and just uninterested in providing good customer service. The course itself was ok. There are a lot of areas the grass has been diseased and brown in the fairways. The best thing about the course are the greens.
Stonehedge South Course at Gull Lake View Golf Club and Resort
Played On 08/23/2020Nice course, bad set up
I've played here several times and most of the time the course is set up just fine, but there are a few pin placements that are just absurd. The 17th comes to mind. When it's a front left pin placement you can't even keep your ball on the green. There should be no reason the pin is ever in that location. Other than pin placements the course is nice.
The Summit at Shanty Creek
Played On 06/23/2019Better than you think!
This course is better than you might think and def a good value. Greens are in great shape. Most slope back to front but grain is front to back. Prevailing hill always dictates the break. Very short 6k from tips.
The Chief Golf Course
Played On 06/22/2019Really Gone Downhill
This course is in awful shape. Greens are not well kept and overall we were really disappointed. The summit course was in way better shape and less $. The staff at the restaurant were way below average. took almost 25 min to get our fish fry on Friday night. Music was probably the highlight. I will not be returning.
Whisper Creek Golf Club
Played On 05/27/2019Worst Greens Around
It's crazy how bad these greens are. Preserve courses have better greens. I will not pay over $40 to play this course in the future. Just not worth it.
Makray Memorial Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2019Good Course, Lighning fast greens
Course was in good shape today despite the rain last week. These are extremely fast greens. Easy to putt the ball off the green in some areas.
Bartlett Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/13/2019Too Expensive for April
$62 was just a silly price for early April. Course was in ok shape. Sand still on several greens. Bunkers not raked. Lots of divots on the greens. I guess I expect that for early in the year, but you should not pay more than $40 for this course in April.

Blackstone Golf Club
Played On 09/20/2018Good Course, Very Bad Mosquitos
The layout is good. Fairly open and forgiving fairways. Greens were just ok. Very beat up. They could be some of the best around. Fairways were in good condition.
Now the Mosquitos... This would deter me from returning. I've never experienced anything like this. Too many other nice courses that don't have health concerns.
Wild Rock Golf Club - Wild Rock Championship Course
Played On 07/08/2018Challenging course
The course would be great if they took care of the greens. Lots of divots and spike marks. They do have good service with cart people every 3 holes.
Wild Rock Golf Club - Wild Rock Championship Course
Played On 07/08/2018Nice Course, Challenging.
The only thing keeping this from being an extremely nice course were the green conditions. They need to roll them. Very challenging, but also very bumpy and tons of ball/spike marks. Lots of very helpful people on the course. I saw a Cart person every 3 holes or so.
Mt Prospect Golf Club
Played On 08/25/2017Good Character, but in bad shape
The course should be very nice, but the greens are very beat up with tons on divot marks. People need to repair their divots, but the course should also put the effort in to fix them. They could be the best greens around. Too many other nice courses to pay $58 on a week day that don't have rock hard fairways and poorly kept greens. Practice area was nice.
Chevy Chase Country Club
Played On 05/25/2017Fun Course, Forgiving
First time playing Chevy Chase. Nice course with good greens. Staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Not too much trouble on this course. For a right handed player the course favors the slice as most of the trouble will be left. We played in less than 4 hours on a Thursday at 12:30pm.
Arboretum Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2017Fun Course
Fun course. Target golf. If you hit your driver over 250 yards you can probably just leave it home. I used mine once on the back nine par 5. No driving range just a net. Practice green is nice.
Bowes Creek Country Club
Played On 04/07/2017Fun course, mostly target golf
Excellent course! Definitely the best course around for $41 on a Friday morning. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Fairways were in great shape just after a big rain and carts were 90 degrees.
Arizona Grand Resort
Played On 03/04/2017Just Okay
My biggest issues were with the staff and the rental clubs. If you are going to charge $50 to rent clubs then they should at least be in good shape. All three of the people in our group had torn bags and extremely dirty grooves in the clubs. Secondly, if I'm renting clubs, I probably don't have golf balls. This is the first place I've ever rented clubs and at least a sleeve of balls, weren't included. The marshall hangs out on the 4th hole and was just a rude person. I would not play here again because there are just better courses with better customer service in the area.
I appreciate the review and it's fair in our current state. We lost our pumphouse and irrigation system during hurricane Sally in the Fall. That took away our ability to water course the course for eight weeks and apply our usual overseeding. The thinning of the grass we experienced then is really showing now. We are working hard on the course but really need the warm temperatures back to help fill some areas back in. Please be patient with us during this transition.
Thank you,
