I booked this course looking for a good course that was very playable and not to far from were we where staying. My wife and I really enjoyed the course. The staff couldn't have been anymore friendly, first off I called to see if I could move our tee time. Woman was very helpful and was able to sort it out. Had a really enjoyable round. My only very small negative point a couple.of the greens had.some small burn like patches. Not very many and they all rolled well. As I said only reason I didn't give every description all 5.stars. very good value for the price. Some nice holes that made you work. We ended up eating at the clubhouse which we hadn't intended. Thankfully though we chatted to the chef who was so helpful as my wife has cealic disease and had struggled to find good food in the area. The lady was excellent served up great food and we left very contented. Really is a gem of a course made even better by the people there

First time playing this course, greens where in good condition and consistent, good pace on the greens. Some great views and good layout.
Had a great lunch in the restaurant. Service was impeccable. We will play again

Our 4th time.olaying Kilkeel and once again we love this course, unfortunately we have never played it when it has had a decent amount of dry weather. We showed up knowing the forecast was not good. Arrives to quite a downpour it did ease had a drizzle for first 3 holes then dry ended up with shirt sleeves and sunshine. Tight course greens although had a good soaking where in good condition. Have to say the 18th is one of our favorite finishing holes around.
Like to thank one.of.the.local members who helped me fix my umbrella holder on my cart. And the lady in the shop is always so nice and helpful. We will be back.

3rd time we have played here. Always enjoy the course. It was wet today and 2 holes were closed they let me know that before we travelled up. Even with the rain fairways and greens where in good shape. 4 ball in front were very slow and really should have been told to speed up. Local golfers and we where told they are always slow. But we did enjoy our round. Stay out of the trees which line the course and add for some great settings. The 18th is one of my favorite last holes in northern ireland. Great value and we will be back again

First time playing this course, will play again but hopefully the greens will be in better condition. I think they had previously done some work on them very sandy and some where a little bald in places and the wet weather hasn't helped. Only other thing was they had recently mowed the fairways and unfortunately didn't pick up the grass so if you where off the fairway there was grass cuttings everywhere. We liked the layout for a parkland course. Some tough holes where you need to be straight or you are either in the trees or in the water.

My club Pro recommended Spa to me. He had played and was very complimentary. Lovely afternoon beautiful fairways. Greens where in excellent condition even the bunkers after all the rain beforehand where in great shape. Only reason I don't give "condition" 5 stars was in some places it was a little mucky from all the heavy rain. A little picky. Felt like a long course with some great greens with tricky pin positions. Really enjoyed and great value. Will definitely be back.

Beautiful location, everything about the course was excellent, tee boxes, fairways, greens and the weather. Was a joy to stroll down the beautiful lush fairways. Some are tight and put you under pressure. Greens held a ball well and were a good pace. A very nice par 5 18th hole. The four of us very much enjoyed our round and said we would definitely return to play. Lived in northern Ireland for a long time and we were amazed that we hadn't heard more about this course. Very enjoyable

Course was in great Condition, greens weren't the quickest but where consistent. Bunkers in good shape nice sand. Fourball infront where horrendously slow. Group behind us said they have a reputation for being terribly slow. And they where.

A wet day but the course was open and played well in hard conditions. Beautiful layout with great scenery. A joy to play will come back and play in better weather. Greens need some sunshine. Fairways soft. Staff friendly. Playing again tomorrow. It's a long walk round and no food and beverage service at half way or no cart service was a slight negative.

Once again this Bangor course was in great condition. Greens weren't speedy quick but decent and true and at this time of the year that's alot better than most courses who are either still temporary greens or you use that terrible plastic piece of crap! Most of the bunkers had just had new sand put in and played very well. We have not been disappointed at this course yet.

I called the course the day before and asked if there were any temporary greens or if you had to use plastic mats to play from. I was told there was only 1 temporary green. We showed up no staff there to let us in to use the toilet could not get a score card and our tee time was pointless as there was a society who play every Sunday no tee tea just however many show up is what a couple of them told us so we had to wait. Turns out there was 3 temporary greens and I do mean temporary! Also temporary tee boxes well forward of the main boxes. The greens that were in play were in decent condition and so was the fairways. Could do with some more signage but that's the same with most courses they seem to expect visitors to know where to go. Some nice holes to.play at this course very local course not overly friendly but I guess we aren't there to make friends but to play golf but it certainly wouldn't make us rush back.

Course is in good condition, great sunny morning, greens just mowed before we played them. So where at a good pace. Still playing of some temporary tees but no real Biggie. Really like this course get to use alot of clubs, some nice tough par 3's. We played 18 in 3hrs wasn't busy at all. Would recommend for sure

Only our 2nd time playing the Ava course, 1st time was temporary greens with the cold weather which was no fault of the course. We had a great mornings golf in winter sunshine. Fairways in good condition and the greens were a decent pace. Some very pretty holes with great greens to go for. The layout is great, and most holes are individual not havingnither holes running parallel. We love the Duffrrin course and now realize how lucky the members are at Clandenoye to have 2 great courses to play
