Bent Creek Golf Course
Played On 08/17/2019Greens need help
Bent Creek is a typical valley course, sitting beneath mountains. Course layout is not very difficult, but you MUST play it a couple times before you realize where you can/not hit.
Greens were ROUGH, and thats being generous. Had aerated a week or so earlier, and they were struggling to heal. Combine VERY SLOW GREENS with numerous pitch marks, and you have a recipe for bad results. Ended up playing 2putt max.
Short course, quirky holes. Nice staff. When greens are good, this is decent little track off the beaten path
Chicopee Woods Golf Course - Village Nine
Played On 04/14/2018Good track for all levels
Chicopee woods is in good shape, except the Bermuda hasn't fully matured (fairways). All greens were firm and fair, and only one had issues. For the amount of play this track gets, and the often poor upkeep by golfers, everything was in good condition.
Not overly difficult for most golfers, but a good solid track to play
The Trophy Club of Atlanta
Played On 02/22/2018Soggy day, play away
TC-ATL is a good track, with multiple tees for the variety of golfer. Not a good place for anyone who sprays the ball. You need to have some control of your game.
Course is very wet due to extreme rains, but greens are in good shape. They get fast as they dry out. Course is hilly, so CPO made the day feel long, but we finished our round in 3:45. Pace was good. Starters were good natured, and encouraging. Pro staff was courteous and funny. F/B good as always.
Bay Dunes Golf Club
Played On 06/15/2016Could be great, except
This course could be a great gem away from PCB, but they MUST do some serious maintenance to fix it. Range-practice area is a mess. Tee boxes were beaten up, uneven, and needed to be mowed. Fairways/rough were the same grass height. Bunkers (holes with "sand" but mostly grass) were evident, just no rakes. Greens in terrible shape (discolored, worn spots, weeds, fuzzy and needed to be cut). NO WATER on course, so they give you a bottle in the clubhouse.
Layout is actually decent, links-style with some good carries and risk/reward options. Played in windy conditions, so it was a decent challenge.
PLEASE, close for a year, get this thing back to health, then open back up. It has some potential to be a good course, but will take some time and $$ to bring back to life.
Great Course to play off the beaten path
Found this course on GolfNow, and for a good deal. Our 2some teed off on time, and we really enjoyed the layout. Pace was a bit slow, but manageable.
I like this course because you will use every club in the bag. Not a pitch-n-putt.
First time out, just play what you see, nothing more. Once you've played it a few times, you can be more aggressive in shot selection.
Would have liked to see the bev cart more than 1st green, and 17th fairway.
