Top notch, first-class, and every other description for an amazing golfing experience applies here. I just can't say enough about how great the course is and the SERVICE was second to none. Great practice areas, over-seeded dark green fairways and the greens were rolling fast and true. Every staff member I encountered from the time I parked the car to the time I left was friendly, courteous and welcoming - a rare experience in golf these days. It's obvious there is an established culture of gratitude and excellent service. The post-round $4 draft beers were icing on the cake. I'd been wanting to get up to Winstar Golf forever and I'm glad I finally did. Now I can't wait to get back. Seriously, this ain't no paid endorsement, it is THAT GOOD!

Great layout and a challenging course, especially for first-timers. It's all about positioning off the tee and if you don't know where to hit it (or try to), pars are hard to come by. The biggest negative was the greens which were a little shaggy and slow. There was a bit of sand on them so they may have been punched recently. All in all, a very good round and I do look forward to going back.

Got around as a threesome in 3.25 hours. Doesn’t get any better than that as far as pace of play goes. Course is in OK condition, fairways have some sparse areas and the greens aren’t the smoothest. But for $25, you can’t go wrong. Oh, 5-star amenities is for the brisket sandwich at Eddie Lemon’s - excellent barbecue!

As always, Tangle Ridge provided a great day of golf. The course was firm and fast, which is expected this time of year. The greens weren’t as fast as they will be, but for the most part, rolled true. Only complaint is the tiny moguls on most of the fairways. They make for a super bumpy ride, we got airborne a couple times.

Had a very enjoyable Monday round on an almost picture perfect 74 degree day, in early January no less. The starters did a great job getting groups of 2 and 3 off and even broke up a five-some to keep things flowing. Kudos to them. The course was in good but not great shape, considering all the rain as of late. But the course seems to drain well and there were much fewer muddy areas than I’d anticipated. The greens were receptive and smooth. The only downside is that they don’t overseed anywhere, so the course is a bland canvas of brown with nothing to frame the fairways or greens. Other than that, can’t complain. Oh and the turkey sandwich, nothing to write home about. Good job by everyone there at the course!

L@LE never disappoints! Great layout on a beautiful piece of land. Every hole is a good hole but most are really good and several are really unique. In my opinion, it’s one of the best tracks in North/East TX and a unique course in the region. It’s a great test of golf and one that makes you think your way around the course. If I had to get picky, the only negative was that the greens were a bit slow. They looked great and rolled true, just slower than you’d think and left everything short. But in light of recent heavy rains and even some flooding out there, the greens and fairways were in excellent condition. Can’t wait to go back!

I play Tangleridge a couple of times a year and have never had a bad experience out there. The guys in the pro shop or always friendly, the breakfast burrito was excellent, range and range balls all good, and the course as always, in excellent shape. Love the layout and the variety of holes - you’ll hit every club in your bag. And the elevation changes can only be found at a few courses in DFW. It’s a “big” golf course with massive greens and lots of room around the greens and tee boxes. The only negative is the lack of overseeding to frame the fairways, but that’s not a deal breaker for me. Recommend this course without hesitation.

For the price, an excellent value. The course was in good shape overall. Greens a little on the slow side, but rolled very true and got a bit faster after some drying out. It was a little wet and sloppy with the recent rains and we had to go 90 degree rule, but that's to be expected. Can't really think of anything to complain about, every staff member encountered was friendly and helpful. Had a good time and finished 18 holes in almost exactly 4 hours.

Overall, the course was in very good shape. The greens were a tad slow but rolled true. With all the recent rain the rough was a little thick and long, but that's understandable. The only real complaint worth mentioning is that several of the tee boxes, if not most of them, need serious leveling. The three of us constantly found ourselves teeing and re-teeing because the ball was well below are well above our feet. Still a very good outing and I'll definitely plau RR again.

I was very pleasantly surprised with the golf course. For a flat and fairly open piece of land, the layout is still interesting and challenging without being too punishing or difficult. The greens were soft and very receptive and although a tad on the slow side, rolled true. The guys in the shop were friendly and very customer-focused. Only downer was no refreshments on the course but it appears they're working on getting that resolved. Enjoyed it!

Good course, good layout and greens were a little firm but rolled fast and true for the most part. Like most muni courses, golfers think fixing ball marks is optional which is too bad. Also had to deal with occasional cyclists riding throughout the course - really? Back 9 was particularly ragged with lots of bare areas, some on fairways. No fun hitting off of dirt. But all in all, good but not great. I paid $59 with cart and although that's competitive for the area, I'm not in a hurry to go back or pay that again.

5-1/2 hour rounds just aren't any fun, no matter the conditions. Impossible to get into any kind of rhythm when you have to wait on every tee shot and almost every approach. On all par 3s, there were at least two groups waiting on the tee, sometimes three - one of those in plain view of the clubhouse, but don't expect anyone there to do anything about it. The fairways and greens are in pretty good shape considering the drought, but that just can't make up for the death march it takes to get through it. Two employees behind the register were in a conversation when I checked in, I didn't get a "hello" or "thanks for coming out" or anything, but that's pretty much the norm everywhere so I can't hold that against them. I like the course overall but rounds that long are unacceptable.

Love this old historic track. Great layout that has a great flow to it. The greens were recently sanded and were too slow, but will be very good soon. Nice pace - we never had to wait on anyone and no one waited on us. The 4 holes across the underpass are reopened and despite temporary greens on two of them, all four are beautiful holes that are challenging and fun to play. Can't wait for the permanent greens to settle in. Hard to describe, this course just has a really nice feel to it.

Staff was great. Overall, the course is in very good shape, but several holes, IMO, are borderline unfair. Majority of greens are severely elevated w/no collars and mounds are shaved/rolled down to bare ground. Chips ran through and off greens. One short downhill putt rolled 20 yds off. Very challenging course probably fun for the scratch golfer, but if your short game is average or below, be prepared for lots of frustration.

The course is in great shape for this time of year. FAST track all the way around - hard and fast fairways and mounds around the greens. Greens are lightning fast but hold approaches well and roll true. I get out to a lot of public courses in the area and these greens are the best I've seen in a long time.

Rough start - after checking in, I walked down to carts to find out keys were not in carts. Why didn't the guy who checked me in give me one??? When I asked the marshall for one, he said "I don't have them" so I had to walk back up to counter and as I did, marshall yells "Hey, get me one too." No "please", no "sorry", nothing. Also, the guy at counter told me he'd call us to 1st tee over intercom - never happened. Kinda disappointing.The course was in decent shape for early Feb. Only green on the course is the greens which held great, but were bumpy and crusty. Had to wait on every tee shot and most approaches. Overall experience a 5 out of 10.
