Montclair Country Club
Played On 07/14/2022Course is improving!
I know I’m not out to shoot any kind of course record. Just out to have fun playing golf. And with that said, Montclair is a nice course for that. It’s not expensive and the course (not counting the tee boxes) was in really nice shape. I’ve played Montclair the last three years and can say it is actually getting better. They are starting to fix the tee boxes as a majority of the tee markers were all in the same spot. Course wasn’t crowded. Was a single and was able to play 18 in just over two hours.
Somerset Farms Golf Course
Played On 05/18/2021First time at this track
Course was perfect for me! Tee’d off at 9:10 and was done shortly after 11. So really enjoyed it not being crowded. And a big Thanks to the four groups that let me play through. Overall the course wasn’t in bad shape. Could use some water but so could this whole part of Virginia right now. Greens were in great shape. Fairways were good as well. Tee boxes on back nine were being aerated. Would play again.
(Pace of play matters more to me than conditions of the course. So will give up a little course perfection for a short timed round)
Potomac Ridge - Meadows Course
Played On 03/29/20161st Time out at Potomac Shores
In my opinion, Potomac Ridge is nothing close to some of the bad reviews I had read about it. Had negative thoughts about the place before I played but quickly those were changed.
Course staff was very helpful and friendly. Told them it was my first time playing the course, and a staff member walked with me outside and showed me and told me things I needed to know about the course.
The course wasn't in horrible shape. Just don't show up thinking you are playing at Augusta. Im sure as the weather gets better, that fairways will as well. Greens were in great shape, grass was just a little long on them.
I was playing as a single. Played two balls on most holes and finished in just over 2 hours. (That was with cart path only rule in place as well)
As long as you are one that doesnt think you are the next coming of Tiger Woods, I would recommend this course. Wasn't crowded at all and it definitely beats being in an office.
Lake Presidential Golf Club
Played On 03/01/2016First trip out to Lake Presidental
Played Lake Presidental for the first time this week. Got a "Hot Deal" on GolfNow for $31. Tee Time was originally for 10:20 but showed up a bit early to go to the range. When I arrived I was told the range was closed.
When I checked in, the staff let me go out early instead of wait an hour till my actual tee time. Which I really appreciated. There are still a bunch of homes being built along the course. But the construction noise really wasn't a distraction. I'd say I only really noticed it if I was looking at the construction while standing around.
Pace of play was great. Played 18 in under 3 hours. (Some holes I would play multiple balls). Groups that I would catch were nice about letting me play through.
Overall, I enjoyed the course. Would recommend to others and will be going back.

Not busy at all. Were able to tee off before our actual start time. Played 18 in under 4 hours.
