We were looking for a course nearby our Glendale hotel where my friend and I could sneak in a round of golf before doing the LA touristy thing with the family and ran across this little gem. Convenient location, tucked away in the hills, great scenery, challenging enough for any golfer, but some course knowledge would have been helpful. Maybe worth an investment in a yardage book to help navigate around the course. The course is short but with the different natural obstacles it wasn't a walk in the park. Would recommend the the bigger hitters leave the driver in the bag on many holes. Pace of play was excellent, round of golf and breakfast in by 10:30! Would play again in a heart beat.
Number One at Brookside Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2014Good Course Ruined by Pace of Play
This was a nice course that we couldn't fully enjoy given the slow pace of play. Given a 6:30 a.m. tee time, you would expect to get through the course in 4 hours or less, but at over 4 1/2 hours and waiting on almost every hole, it really took the fun out of an otherwise potentially great day. What was extra maddening was that the course marshal, I'm sorry, "Ambassador" did absolutely nothing to help speed up the play.
