Woldingham Golf Club
Played On 11/10/2023In great shape considering the amount of rain.
The course played really well. Greens were receptive but also quite quick when rolling. Tees were well positioned and only downside was that bunkers were "considered" GUR even though no standing rain in any. Mind green keepers working on the bunkers to make them "fluffy" rather than hard and stodgy

Played On 08/09/2023Shorter than normal
Let me 1st say , the course is in good nick. Good tee areas responsive greens and fair rough. Only issueviscthat Whites and Yellow tees are playing in most cases at least 20 yrds forward. The coursevis not long so a bit disappointing that it is even shorter at the moment. Some work to 8th tee means that hole is even shorter. The loss or reduction of the bunkers in front of 9th and 18th make the approaches a lot easier. May be the bunkers have been reduced a bit too much. Not sure the HI for this course is correct as 130 off the whites seems a little high especially when not playing full length. However, after all that, still a pleasure to play and the 9th is also a pleasure.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. We do have to manage the teeing areas to avoid wear and tear. Hopefully you come back again soon!
Cherry Lodge Golf Club
Played On 05/25/2023Tricky conditions at present.
Rough is long but fairways are lush. Greens are fast. Accuracy is premium as is knowing your distances for approach shots. Enjoy goingvto Cherry Lodge, always a warm welcome and midweek twilight is excellent value for money.

Played On 04/16/2023Great condition and always a tricky venue
Hardly any wind but any wind and the voursebis tricky to play. It swirls around and comes through the hollows. Greens are great a touch fast may be but very true. Can't fault the condition of the course.
Farleigh Golf Club - Blue Course
Played On 04/01/20233 sets of 9 all in good condition if on fairway.
Considering the wetness courses in good nick if you kept ball on fairway. Dm and muddy off the beaten track. Greens running average but true.
Coulsdon Manor Hotel & Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2023Needs a bit of TLC but recent rain hasn't helped
1st visit but wi return as difficult to judge after re ent winter. Greens played differently on each half.Sandy and wet 1st 9 and 2nd 9 no sand and relatively damp free! However most flat with not much going on. This is a typical hot course. Not too challenging with little rough and family wide fairways. Tees definitely need a bit of TLC. As I say, have to return later in Spring or Summer and see if I can work out where the fairway finished and rough starts 😅
Park Wood Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2022Needs a bit of TLC
Played this course at the very beginning of the year, in fact 2nd Jan, and it was extremely wet and soggy. However the greens were not too bad but the winter tees were just mats in which you could not stick a tee. So we come back after a hot summer where most courses have been very dry and what little rain we have had has started to soften some of the fairway. Not here, it is still fairly soggy and the fringes of the green are heavy with long grass. the fairways are looking sad and the tees are still out of play and in some cases the mats really should be as well. A couple of tees were not easy to spot or even to find a mat. The saving grace wa s the greens which were still fairly true and soft but the roll was even. With a bit of TLC this course could get back to its old glory. Will visit again in spring/summer next year to see how it fairs in the warmer months.
Bletchingley Golf Club
Played On 08/11/2021Course standing up to the amount of rain
Course is draining well and looking good as far as fairway, tees and greens are concerned. One aspect that is not as best as it could be are the bunkers. They are being raked by the club but, there is little sand and currently wet (the sand is concerned) so it is difficult to play out of these. However they can be avoided so on the whole the course is in very good nick.

Played On 07/23/2021Very testing when the wind picks up
Love this course as it plays in 3 different way; offshore or onshore wi d or still.. When the wind blows its a game of 2 9-holes. Easy when no wind.
Croham Hurst Golf Club
Played On 06/27/2021Well maintained and great variety of holes
Last week was dry but threat of rain, this week had rained a lot then one day really dry but course conditions much the same except rough had grown!!! Greens in great condition and course overall very 'friendly'. Will be visiting again in the near future.
North Downs Golf Club
Played On 05/03/2021Suffering from lack of rain
Cracks on the fairway, bare patches thoughout. Greens hard and recently worked on so made oputting across the green difficult. Hopefully in a couple of weeks green will have recovered and be very good but need watering as well. Tees had plenty of grass and rotated enough.
Lingfield Park Golf Club
Played On 04/05/2021Much better nick than 2 years ago
A couple of years ago the course was not in a good state but I played in August last year and there weresigns of improvement, mainly to the fairways and greens. That improvement has paid dividends especailly the greens. Can't do much about the fairways and how they have crisped up in acouple of weeks from wet to hard. The tees need to be rotated a bit more and some of them need to be looked at to get them level or at least flat. On the whole out ofthe 4 courses I have played in the week after Golf was allowed to be played this was the best one.
Selsdon Park & Golf Club
Played On 03/29/2021Shame about condition. Difficult enough.
Was hoping that the greens would have been cut just before but they were slow a bumpy. Tee boxes, nearly all were uneven and grassless. I know it has rained a lot and dried out quickly so going to get a few uneven features. Will be back later in spring/summer and will be hoping for an improvement. Still it is a nicely laid out course and tricky par 4's.

Played On 12/31/2020Shame about the pace
Considering the weather this was a very playable course with no water standing. Just don't understand why it takes a 2-ball 2hrs to play 9 holes and then play the next in less than 90 minutes. Not keeping to the buggy paths might have something to do with it!! But as mentioned the greens were in good condition for this time of year as were the tees. Would play again in the winter but must remeber to bring towel and pitch mark repairer. Far too many left by previous golfers. Only had time to repair my own witha tee peg.
North Downs Golf Club
Played On 12/06/2020May to now - 2 very different courses. Well recovered
Considering we played this course straight after lockdown and said 'won't be playing here for another year's, what a a tranforrmation. Last year it was almost underwater and there were 7 temp greens at beginningbofvthe year. Came back in early June and the greens were unplayable. Weeds, patches, growth you name it greens were suffering from it. Tees were wet and not rotated and course was in a mess. However few reviews in Oct persuaded us to have another look. Though damp and a bit spongy the greens had plenty of growth but even and winter true. Fairways not a patch in sight and not soaking. Tees were all very playable. Well done for the turnaround.
Cottesmore Hotel Golf & Country Club - Griffin Course
Played On 10/31/2020Shame about the rain
THis is a good course and is usually in very good condition but the rain has been tipping down for 2 days so surprised that still opened and other still playing. Most greens had standing water but still "playable". Well I certainly played on. You wouldt think with so much rain it would be muddly. Well not really. Waterproof trousers quite dirty but nothing on bottom of shoes. Love the layout and the variety of holes. Only downside is that it is attached to a Hotel , small but still visitors have the majority of the "good" tee times. Most probably won't be visiting now until the spring
Croham Hurst Golf Club
Played On 10/24/2020Tricky start and well maintained course
Only discovered this course a couple of years back but it is a firm favourite of mine. What you see is what you get. Mature course with plenty of trees lining the holes. No dog legs. Greens are true and medium to large in size and well maintained. Tee boxes are narrow and rotated so no muddy or fully worn out areas. Though it was drizzling and high winds at times it was still playable and people obviously enjoy playing it as the weather predictions lived up to the billing but golfers still prepared to play. Car Parking is an issue with a tight carpark and very tight slots. But that won't put me off visiting again.
Dyke Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2020Delightful course being made better.
Unfortunately two greens under repair but for very good reasons....better drainage. Mind you this course is built on Chalk at the top of the South downs so drains pretty well anyway. Greens were in good condition even though "aired" about a week ago. Running true and quick. Views of Brighton and out to sea are great and depending on your point of view the wind turbines only add/hinder the view. Sunset is orgeous at this time of the year and the clubhouse protects you from the glare as you rise up the 18th.
Westerham Golf Club
Played On 10/17/2020Costly but in good condition
Now that the colder climate is settling in and days are much shorter, thought the cost for the last 4 hours of possible play would go down. Thx to GN it did a bit. However, course in good nick, may be the tees need a bit more rotating but set up nicely overall. Bit worried by amount of cars and people when we turned up but got round in 3.5 hrs so that was a bonus. Very playable and would visit again if cost came down....
East Brighton Golf Club
Played On 10/11/2020Great course and great variety when the wind blows
Quite still this time but what wind was from the north west. Made back 6 holes fairly easy but into the wind on 2nd to 4th and 6th to 11th into the wind which include Stroke index 1, 3, 5, 6 and 8. After the rain the course grass was lush, i.e. very few bare patches and greens very true if not a little long. Average speed - stimp 8 or 9. Lovely views over Brighton and the Marina
Thank you for comments. Hope we can get 5 stars next time you visit!
