Never Again

I played nine holes here before leaving beyond frustrated. I took some time to relax before writing this so now I can lay it out completely.

First and most importantly, the guys working in the pro shop are an embarrassment for this golf course. This is an opportunity for first impressions of the course and the guys in there could not be more unfriendly and unapproachable. I play plenty of golf and do not have high expectations for pro shop interactions but these guys are, by far, the worst I have ever come across.

Second, this course has little, if not any, representation out on the course. Non-existent marshalls and cart girls leads to a compounding problem...slow pace of play and no refreshments while you wait on tee boxes.

Lastly, pace of play. I doubt its much of a problem during the morning or twilight, but in the afternoon this course packs this place as tight as the parking lot can accommodate. Making it even worse are local OCC golfers that are allowed to slip in between scheduled groups...and walk. We had a group of 8-10 OCC golfers try to tell us that they were up on the first tee after we had waited for the 3 full groups in front of us to tee off, meaning we were starting 25 minutes late for the very beginning. It's not a good look for the course and doesn't make alot of paying and scheduled golfers happy. There has to be a better alternative.

To Management: It's a beautiful course and could be really special but in its current operating state, it's lacking the features (and hospitality) that could make it a perfect solution for golfers not wanting to pay more for places like Strawberry, Oak, or Tustin Ranch but also not wanting to waste time and money at other nearby dogtracks. Up the fee's 35% in order to lose a little of the fat that slows and hurts this course and reap the benefits. Until then....
