Ahwatukee Country Club
Played On 11/12/2017Course in pretty bad shape
This was my first time playing this course and it will be my last. The course has obviously suffered from years of neglect and is in absolutely horrendous condition. It's only saving grace on the day I played is that the annual over-seed had recently been completed so there was nice green winter rye grass on the fairways, tee boxes and greens. The trouble was, there was very little grass anywhere else, so I can't even imagine what the course must have looked like before the over-seed. There were vast expanses of dirt and dead grass everywhere; I don't think I've ever seen this much dirt on a golf course. The greens hadn't been mowed in days, so the grass was so long it was practically like putting on a tee box. Signage is all but non-existent; they don't even have signs to mark the hole numbers, let alone the yardages. What few cart paths exist are cracked and crumbling. When you only pay $20 for a round of golf you can't expect too much, but you don't feel like that's a bargain either when you get done playing this course - let's put it that way. There are plenty of other courses in metro Phoenix that cost only a few dollars more but are in much better condition. Don't waste your time here - I definitely won't be coming back.

I will definitely be back. I was very impressed by the overall excellent condition of the course and the upscale feel. Not crowded at all. This is a beautiful course.
