San Pedro Golf Course
Played On 12/14/2017Worth the drive
The course has gotten much better this year. Fairways are in nice condition, over seeded a couple months ago. Greens are fairly fast and true. Much of the rough has been cut back. Plenty of tee boxes for every skill level. Every hole has challenges and rewards.
The Golf Club at Dove Mountain - Saguaro/Tortolita
Played On 08/07/2017One of Arizona's finest golf courses
Most of the course was excellent. Greens were very nice condition. Some areas on the fairway and near the greens were a little rough....... some spots were bare or near bare. The desert suffers during the heat of the summer. Lots of hazards, bunkers , water, ".......and anywhere off the Fairway is nearly unplayable. Big, why fairways. GPS on the cart is critical to the first time player. Some of the best views anywhere near Tucson.
El Rio Golf Course
Played On 04/14/2016Nice, at low price.
We played here only because of a great deal. It was better than I expected. Pretty decent layout, condition and staff. Some areas are hazardous because of errant shots from adjacent holes or golfers hitting before they should. 18 is a good challenge.....over the dogleg right fence.
San Pedro Golf Course
Played On 08/12/2015Needs improvement
This course is going down. Maintenance is lacking. Greens have invasive grasses growing in. Fairways and tee boxes are overgrown.......cups not recently cut. Greens very slow........need to be mowed. Interesting layout. No beverage cart........Driving range closed.
del Lago Golf Club
Played On 08/18/2014Rainy Day Golf
I like this course....good layout, several challenges, good views, .....but........ greens were lumpy from recent aeration, bunkers were in need of maintenance, ie more sand, No starter, kids fishing in the ponds, no gps on carts. I'll be back and I will hope for better conditions.
Kino Springs Golf Course
Played On 05/29/2014Yes...worth the drive.
Played here on 5-29 and actually got rained on. Great day. Light, cool drizzle. Course is an interesting layout/mix of open and tight holes........hills, valleys and thick brush, and wide open spaces. Several blind shots and sharp drop off places to avoid. I like this course....it will challenge your game. Condition is ok, but needs work. Greens had been aerated recently...still kinda lumpy. The owner could put a little money into improvements/maintenance.
Kino Springs Golf Course
Played On 5/10/2013Treasure at Kino Springs
Much enjoyed this course of many slopes and valleys....greens were still lumpy from recent aeration. Errant shots result in lost balls here, but fairways are wide and very playable. Rolling hills and beautiful views enhance the experience. About an hour from Tucson, and worth the drive. This was once the playground of the Stars, owned by Stewart Granger and Jean Simmons.
Rio Rico Golf Club
Played On 5/07/2013Rio Rico is Coming Back
RR is coming back. Condition is much better, and the staff was friendly. This is a very good layout, and the course is under new management.
Sorry you caught use preparing for overseeding. We had more things than usual to take care of. We had a weed growing in some of the greens that the previous superintendent could not take care of. Our new Super has removed all the weeds but it took some time. We are taking care of neglected areas to make this winter a great experience at San Pedro. Please visit us this winter to see the great improvement. Thank You
