Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 03/17/2021Very nice course
Classic Palm Springs course winding through a mid-century modern neighborhood.Course was in very nice shape. Greens were a little slower than I am used to due to type of grass, but flat and true, Tees and fairways in great shape. No dissappointments. South course gets all the reviews because of scenery, but the people who play here multple times a week say the greens are better on the North course and the price is much lower. I will ocome again.
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 03/16/2021Terrible sand traps
Wind was much higher than forecast when I made my reservation. Staff offered me a rain check, but I drove 1.5 hours to get there and wanted to play before it got too hot. Sand traps are garbage. Need to rake them deeper to break up the hard pack and mud. Many of the greens are small or narrow. Several had issues with the grass and they were slow, so the break was less than what you might expect. Any ball off the fairway is lost. Don't even look for it.
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2021poor maintenacnce
Greens are terrible. bumpy, slow, bare spots . Fairways have dirt spots, likely from burrowing animals. Looks like it used to be a nice place, but they are not taking care of it. I won't go again.
Hemet Golf Club
Played On 03/02/2021Fire the groundskeeper!
Beautiful mature course winding through and around a neighborhood against the foothills. Lots of vertical, so a good workout to walk. Lot's of personality, but very poor maintenance. Fairways have bare dirt everywhere due to ground squirrels and the greens are just a disaster. Like putting on a bumpy wool carpet. Large bare spots on many of the greens. Greens need to be thatched, aeriated, and rolled. Should have done that during the Covid closure. Charged $30 to my playing partners with a cart. Charged me the same to walk mid-week senior rate. I will not be back.
Seven Hills Golf Club
Played On 11/25/2020Nice course for the money.
Well maintained, grounds keepers know what they are doing. Good greens, tees, and fairways. Relatively easy course. Open fairways, but has some personality, not just a cow pasture. Very walkable. 75 minute drive from my home. I have played it twice, and I will go back again..
Cimarron Golf Club - Boulder Course
Played On 10/31/2019Just an OK municipal course.
They won't let you take your cart to your car, they don't have free range balls, they don't have beautiful landscaping, ,and they charge more than nicer courses a few miles away who do offer all these amenities. When I mentioned this to the cart boy I was told I didn't have to play there. i won't be back.
The fairways are wide and the greens are large and flat, so the course is very playable for higher handicappers. The mountains in the background are beautiful, but the course is just some green grass surrounded by desert.
I beat my average score by 10 strokes and I still thought the course was kind of boring. There are some truly beautiful courses is this area, but this is not one of them.
