Too Slow

We are sent to the first tee right on time for a 12:32 tee time, only to find two other foursomes already waiting to tee off. GREAT! 5-7 minutes between each shot and one or two groups on each par 3. What a nightmare. As the sun disappeared over the mountain tops at approximately 5:30PM I knew we had 15 or 20 minutes of light. We were on the 14th hole. As the shadows moved up the eastern range we played the island hole barely in the light, and finished in total darkness the 17th and18th. Good thing we are straight hitters.

Hard and Fast - WOW

Drives ran forever, 20 - 30 yds more on a solid drive. That was fun!! Not so much fun, the greens were Augusta National FAST!! Ball would not stay on the green, approach shots, pitch shots, chipping, FORGET ABOUT IT! Some putts wouldn't hold even on a tapper downhill. Roll it up short, it would roll back to your feet. Grass does not grow in colder temps, OK, then don't cut them so tight. I love fast, true greens but this time it was a little much.

The BIG GAME Weekend

Played on Sunday of the Big Game, Teed up around 10 AM and finished in time to get home. Course was in great shape and fun to play. Starting on the Lakes was brutal, lost more balls in 9 holes than the rest of my 4 round trip. LOL My fault, needed a 9 hole warm up.

Challenging course away from the Strip.

Tight fairways for the average player, with houses on both sides of many holes, very tough par 3's with four difficult finishing holes. Fairway and green side sand traps need grooming, otherwise a nice course in good condition.

This can not possibly be the 'Bear's Best'

The layout of these 18 holes is superb, each hole has it's own character. You will need to think yourself around this track. Fairways were thin and patchy leaving you with a very tight lie after a while I was aiming for the first cut or the rough so I could hit a good second shot. The bunkers were too firm like there was not enough sand in them. As for the greens, they were overly dry and full of old ball marks. I was repairing 2-3 pitch marks on every green. (That speaks to the bad habits of the other players on the course more than the maintenance crew) No grass in spots even though we played right after the autumn overseeding period. The bunker in the middle of the 16th fairway is over the top, that hole is challenging enough. Too bad, Jack would be disappointed and maybe a little embarrassed of the condition of the course. I did not feel I received a good value for the money I spent on green fees, not everything in Vegas needs to be overpriced.

Great warm up area, beautiful facility

The greens were PGA fast. WOW! Lucky we had a little rain to slow them down. Two of our four players struggled with the speed of the greens but I actually like them fast. Downhill putts were rolling right off the green but they were true if you could read them right. Great Day of Golf.

Great layout, fun holes that you can score on if played well. Lots of driving inbetween holes.

I love this course, the holes are pleasant to the eye and are not too similar. Good mix of short and long holes, I try to play here every time I visit.

The Course is Fun and Challenging, Pace of play was a little slow.

After aeration and overseeding the price was too high $99 is fine for normal conditions but not for cart path only and a flat tire on the 10th hole, lucky it was close to the clubhouse.

Desert Golf with a Dye-abolical Touch

Enjoyable rolling fairways and very nice greens. The visuals are beautiful, very appealing to the eye. Most holes are in sight from the tee box and are very challenging yet playable, keep it in the fairway and you can score. Good separation between holes and a professional and friendly staff. 5+ hour round was tough in the sun and the heat, not a lot of places to hide. Shade is a non factor as there are no tall trees, it's all natural plants, scrub and small cactus plants. I can't wait to go back.

A Real Beauty

This is one of my favorite courses in the State. Always in great shape, and a really nice layout. The Pines and The Lakes courses are maintained the same, I like the Pines course just a little better than the Lakes. It just plays a little longer than the posted time.
