Forest Greens was in very good condition. Greens were surprisingly smooth; huge jump from 10 days ago. Fairways still need a hot week to get the Bermuda grass to come in strong. Course layout is great. Lots of doglegs and elevation changes. Starter and clubhouse personnel were pleasant and helpful. Hot Deal price was great. I’ll be back!

I like big courses. Not only is it big, it has beautiful vistas. Greens, tees and fairways were in great condition. Don’t care for dirt bunkers. Pace of play was decent except for a slow playing single from holes 4-8. We were a foursome and had to wait. Running out of daylight on the last 4 holes, we had another foursome playing extremely slow. Marshal talked to them which seemed to make them mad and play slower. We finished 18 in the dark. Otherwise, a really fun day of golf.

Course always in great shape. Bunker renovations are much appreciated; beautiful white, fluffy sand! Greens are normally fast, and yesterday’s pin placements devious.

Fauquire Springs may be a private country club but that doesn’t make it better. At check in I told the attendant that I had a 1:40 tee time paid on line. He told me the 1:00 tee time on Golf Now was the $43 on line rate and told me I had to pay him $50. I showed him the email on my phone, and he argued. Another golfer came in and supported me. He paid on line for my tee time as well. After a couple minutes of ranting, the attendant acquiesced and gave us a cart key. The course was in average condition with EXTREMELY slow greens. The rough was very inconsistent, with various types of grass and weeds. Balls in the rough gave very different lies - ball sits down, sits low with an inch of cushion underneath or sits up with 2 inches of fluffy rough below. My golf partner was a very low handicap golfer. He agreed that the rough was extremely inconsistent. My view - Fauquire Springs reminded me of Montclair GC on steroids or the closed General’s Ridge without the fun!

I’ll always pick PW G.C. When I’m looking to work on my game. Tees and fairways are almost always in very good condition. Greens are sloped more than most courses, although they have slowed them somewhat. Patrons need to fix their ballparks. Just fix your own. Folks like me will eventually get the rest; I averaged 5 per hole yesterday! It’s hard to lose a ball, so it’s a nice course for the beginners & challenged. One issue needs addressing - the time before last our cart would not make it up hills and had to be replaced. Yesterday’s cart was almost as bad. My partner golf partner had to jump out on the path leading up to the par-3 4th so that thaw cart could climb the hill!!

Starter was able to get me out early by pairing me up with a twosome. We are all ex military so we bonded easily. The recent rains have helped Pohick Bay as well as most other courses. Greens were great (except for unrepaired ball marks), fairways had grown in well. Even the bunkers were in good shape, althoughI haven’t practiced since we were told during Covid not to play from the bunkers. We finished in 3.5 hrs. I like the layout a lot - many doglegs and elevation changes. I’m usually able to find an inexpensive tee time on Golf Now, so for the money it’s one of the more interesting and well kept courses in the area for a very reasonable price.

Montclair has major issues. Where to start. Tee boxes are mostly hard dirt. I had trouble getting a tee into many. All fairways, except #18, were hard as a rock without much grass. If all holes were like #18, it would be a wonderful little course. Greens were ok, and rolled true. Bunkers were minimally acceptable. Get off the fairway, forget it. I’m just guessing, but it felt like the course and community has decided not to spend any money on the course. Golf Now should drop it from it’s offerings!

I always love playing BRS although it’s a long way from my home in Woodbridge VA. It starts out as a links style course but then quickly transitions into the traditional parkland course. The back nine is almost exclusively links style. Lots of elevation changes throughout. The course is in very good shape:tees, fairways, bunkers and greens. The clubhouse is nice and sits on top of a hill overlooking the course. Course personnel were friendly. If you are looking for a nice escape visit scenic Blue Ridge Shadows G.C.in Front Royal VA. You won’t be disappointed!

This was my first time playing Maryland National. If I hadn’t been playing with players who knew the course, I would have been playing the wrong fairways and hitting many approach shots to wrong greens. Standing on many tee boxes I had no clue where that hole’s fairway was out at about 200 yds. So many flags in the distance, I had to keep asking my playing partners which flag we were shooting at. Add in significant elevation changes on almost every hole and bunkers littered among all of the fairways with humps and bumps everywhere, this links style course was just frustrating for me - and I’m a 10 handicap. To some up my view, the course was way too quirky for my liking. It was in very good shape, and personnel were generally friendly. Not a course that I will play again.

The course was in terrific shape. Only need golfers to repair ball marks. My hand still hurts from all the ball marks I fixed; about 5 on each hole! Notwithstanding, greens rolled true and were consistent. Tees were great. Fairways immaculate. Add all that to stunning vistas of forest and Lake Manassas and the awesome homes lining the fairways, and you have a gem!

I really like Old Hickory. The layout is great. It’s a big Course although the tee boxes all seemed to be moved forward. The greens were in excellent condition. Fairways and tees were also great. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that they changed cart rules from 90 deg to cart path only just as we were teeing off at 2 pm. When we asked why the starter said “humidity”. It was a nice 75 deg sunny day!

I always enjoy the Lakes course. It’s a tale of two nines. Front nine is wide open (not forested) but the rough is its protector. Very penal - so you must keep it in the fairway to score well. The back nine is parkland style - tree lined fairways with much less rough. Also tight compared to the front nine. Always in great condition. Greens had been punched a while ago, but still puttable. Should be back to normal very soon.

Hadn’t played Pohick in 3 years, ever since they jacked u their prices. Thought I’d give it a try. At check in I was asked if I knew the course conditions. I said know. I was told they are aerating and so the back nine was closed. So two times around. The front nine which had been punched (looked like within the last day) and heavily sanded. I guess it’s too much to ask that the course issue an aerification alert on golf now, like the nicer courses in the area do (e.g. Laurel Hill, Stonewall etc.). I won’t be back!

Laurel Hill is such a great course: big, long, wide fairways with strategic trouble and fantastic greens. Normally in great shape, this time was no exception. The greens were immaculate. The layout is both fun and challenging; a lot of doglegs and elevation changes to make it interesting and challenging to play. Driving range included is a nice perk. Course personnel (pro shop and starters are pleasant and helpful. Everything made for a great golfing experience.

I was mildly impressed with the maintenance and overall condition of Old Hickory. The greens were in very good shape, fairways and tee boxes much improved from just 3-4 weeks ago. The layout is fantastic. Lots of doglegs and elevation changes. As always, the pro shop staff were very helpful and respectful. I look forward to playing Old Hickory more.

Have played Forest Greens many, many times over the last few years. I have never seen it in better condition. Greens? Immaculate! Fairways? Thick and green, but not long. Tees? Tees? Very nice. Kudos to the maintenance team. I love the layout as well. Plenty of dog legs and elevation changes. All in all, a great course, beautiful weather, and good pace of play; not to boast but I corrected a swing flaw causing me to push many shots to the right. Check out Forest Greens. You won’t be disappointed.

There had been a ladies tournament that completed just before our tee time, so the course was ours. Pace of play was excellent. However, we learned from the starter that the greens had just been punched 3 days prior (with very large times). Additionally, the front nine greens had tire tracks over very little grass. Add extremely slow greens all year, and pin placements on the front nine in places where the carnage was the worst, and you have unputtable greens. The back nine greens were markedly more puttable. No reduction in price for those conditions. Due to the hot, wet, then dry conditions, many fairways had burnt out spots. This course has some fun holes and could be a lot better than what we experienced. Once the greens recover (could take awhile), please cut and roll them. They’ve been EXTREMELY slow all year. For example, you have to hit a 20 ft putt like it’s a 100 ft put - and I’m not exaggerating! Staff was friendly as always.

Bristol always has beautiful fairways and greens.Bunkers we’re wet after a day of rain yet the course didn’t invoke cart path only. Good job. Greens rolled true, as always. Whenever I want/need a fun day on a well kept course at a reasonable price, I choose Bristow Manor!

This was the 2nd time playing this corse this year, mostly because it’s very close to my residence and normally not crowded. Greens and fairways were good. Tee boxes atrocious. Many tees were moved up into the rough area before the fairways started. Those were also messy (long grass, lumpy, muddy etc.). The course is ‘quirky’ due to the land available. It has tight, sloping fairways, a lot of doglegs and elevation changes, with blind shots around doglegs doe to thick trees and other vegetation. If you can’t hit it straight you’d better bring a lot of golf balls! Almost forgot - bunkers are bad (lots of hard packed dirt with rocks).
