Heather Ridge Golf Course
Played On 10/26/2019Decent course among houses with some tricky elements
Played for $30 on Golfnow with a cart, so it was a good value. The course is very tightly woven among a housing development. Some of the holes are pretty tight, and it would definitely be a little easier the second time, knowing where the best positions are. Main defense is the greens, which are fast and very undulating.
Not as good as some of the municipal courses, in that the golfers seem to be a little less courteous. Many bunkers weren't raked, ball marks not repaired, etc. Driving range is tight and you hit off of mats. No bunker/chipping area.
Pace of play was about 4:45. There was a marshall but he didn't seem to be able to do anything to speed things up. They claim a goal of a 4 hour round but that didn't happen.
Nonetheless, worth playing if you get a deal.

Played On 10/16/2019Very nice course, quick play
Played on a Wednesday at 1. We were done by about 4:15. We were a twosome with the first 7 holes open in front of us. We caught up to another couple of twosomes, but it kept moving right along. This would be a hard course to walk given that the holes are scattered among a housing development (which you can't tell from the pictures). But it is a very nice course. Pretty challenging,. Fairways fairly wide open, but a lot of greens that are strategically placed. The pins seemed to all be near the edges of the green, and if you miss the green you are often short sided. Greens very undulating, and very quick. Nice range, with two nice chipping areas with bunkers, big practice green. Greens were rolling very smooth.
Main complaint is that the bunkers were wet. We hadn't had much rain, so they just don't drain well. Also, the sand was pretty thin (2") in a lot of places, so that the plastic liner was exposed. Given that they were wet, this made it particularly challenging to hit a consistent bunker shot.
But, at $39 w/cart on Golfnow, it was a good deal and I'll play again.
They even have an air hose to blow off your spikes after the round!

Played On 10/09/2019Good round, a little slow
Started with one other, and wound up finishing by myself. There were a few foursomes in front of us and we couldn't play through. Wound up being 4:20 for the round (12:10 tee time on a Thursday). Not terrible, but could have been a little quicker. Greens were good and lightning fast. Bunkers were raked and full. Fairways had been aerated but were fine. I got 18 with cart for $43 and had a $20 off cert, so for $23 it was well worth it. I don't like that their range only lets you hit on mats. But the starter is on the ball and keeps people moving.

Played On 10/07/2019Good course, nice layout
Nice course. I got a good deal on Golfnow. Wound up playing by myself, and was able to play through a few groups. They were aerating the fairways, which was fine, except one had the equipment in the middle. But well maintained and the greens were nice, pretty quick. Bunkers had been raked recently. Grass was a little thing and worn around a few greens, but not too bad. Main complaint is that the driving range is mats only, no grass, and no chipping/bunker practice area.

Played On 10/04/2019Nice course, nice layout
Walked with a threesome that was riding. Pace of play was good, didn't really wait on any tees. Course was in good shape. Very nice practice facilities, grass tees on the range.

Played On 10/01/2019Nice course, good value
Nice course. I enjoyed the layout and variety. In good shape, except for the bunkers which need more sand and/or raking. Greens had been aerated in the past few weeks but healing nicely and not much of an issue. Pace of play ws 4:10 for a walking foursome. A few holes on the back nine are far apart so there's extra walking, but not too bad.

I like the layout of this course. If you’re walking there are a few longish wake between a few of the holes. Greens had been sweated recently but were pretty well healed and in decent shape. Well maintained. 4:20 for a walking threesome was good (Monday 10:10 tee time, wasn’t busy)
