Juniper Golf Club
Played On 05/24/2017Great Desert Course
This course has some of the best views of the Cascades on a public course in Central Oregon. Course is always in great shape and is fun to play from any tee box. Hole location is key and hitting the fairway will reward you with great follow up shot opportunities. The course has a very good restaurant and the staff is always friendly and helpful. 1 of my favorite courses in Central Oregon.
Lost Tracks Golf Club
Played On 05/22/20171 OF MY FAVORITES
This is one of my favorite course in Central Oregon. The course is laid out very well between the houses and the terrain. Greens are always consistent and course is well maintained. I played 2 rounds that day and walked all 36 holes. Course was in good shape and I was not hampered by anyone else. 2 rounds took about 3 hours. If people were on the course it would have taken more like 6 hours, having played this course numerous times in the past when it would be busy. Get out and play this course you will not be unhappy and the views of the Cascades are fantastic!
Alister MacKenzie at Haggin Oaks Golf Course
Played On 04/29/2017SATURDAY
There was a HUGE golf equipment sale going on. The Course was booked out for the whole day. pace of play was a little slow but considering tee times were about 4 minutes apart when I was scheduled to go off, things went somewhat okay. Still amazed by all the Turkeys everywhere in Sacramento. Course was in really good shape for how busy the place is.
Ancil Hoffman Golf Course

This was am awesome course. I had never been to Sacramento. The course is a municipal and was awesome. I played from the tips and my hands were full. I joined 3 other gentlemen who had played there often and when they found out it was my first time on Ancil, they stated I was going to get my moneys worth. They were not kidding. Lots of old growth and tee boxes that were super tight. Fairways were also really tight. You should bring your "A" game to be successful here. I did not have my "A" game on that day. In all it was a great time and I would play the course again for sure! There were Turkeys everywhere on this course. I guess this is a norm for all of Sacramento.
River's Edge Golf Course
Played On 06/06/2016HOT ROUND
This golf course is not my favorite. It is on the side of a hill in town. Having said that the course was in great shape and played fairly well. I have been playing this course since it was only a 9 hole course back in the late 80's. Opening hole is fun and down hill and around a corner. The whole fairway funnels into the green. The 16th hole is a drop about 200 yards from the tee box and fun to watch. I would not suggest walking this course. The course now offers golf boards, which if you haven't tried are awesome.
Elkhorn Golf Course

I had heard for a few years now how great this course was. I took my father as an early Fathers Day gift. The tee boxes were horrific. The grass resembled curled potato chips in both color and crispness. Terrible! The fairways were very nice, best part of the course. Nice views of surrounding hills snuggled in a lush valley setting. The greens were not horrible but it would have been nice if they had used a blower to rid the greens of some of the seed pods that had fallen in the last, say, month.
Meadow Lakes Golf Course
Played On 04/17/2016Lots of Water
This course is pretty darn flat. There is water on all but 3 holes. This is an easy course to walk whether you carry your bag or have a push cart. You must hit across the Crooked River on both the 9th and 18th holes. This course will try even the best on some days. I play this course about 10-15 times a year. One thing to know or remember, this course has reclaimed water.
The Greens at Redmond
Played On 03/02/2016Tune up course
I use this course to tuner up my short game at the beginning of the season. Easy course to walk, I play it in about 1 hour 45 minutes. You can find great deals in the early season.
Desert Peaks Golf Club
Played On 05/16/2014great views
This course has awesome views of the snow covered cascade mountains. The courses is flat and very playable. The greens need some improvement, they were ugly and lots of dead spots. Fairways were open and almost all holes were straight. Would be good for a beginner and would be a feel good for the more experienced.
Rose City Golf Course
Played On 04/25/2014muck!
The weather was very overcast and off and on rain. Staff helped me get out early and I met a few fellows on the 1st tee box that invited me to play with them.To say the course was soggy would be an understatement. Greens were slow(go figure), but well maintained. The fairways were a little thick, but it is because of the rainy season. I have played this course 1 other time and enjoyed the experience then. I am going to play the course again but next time it will be for revenge. Great muni course in town.
