Overbooked and slow

I have played Zellwood before and had a pretty enjoyable day. This time around the course was clearly overbooked. Showed up for our 11:47 tee time and there were no carts. Took about a 20 minute delay so not terrible. The pace of play was very slow. Too many golfers searching for lost balls, no consideration for players behind them, etc. The course should take 3 1/2 to 4 hours with a cart to play at most. We were closer to 5.
The course itself was in good shape. Nice greens and fairways. It is an oddball layout using some unusual terrain but that makes it interesting.
On an average weekday or off peak time it is definitely more enjoyable. We played on a weekend with beautiful weather at a high price point. Do yourself a favour and play when it is much quieter.

Heaven on earth!

Came to Orlando from Ontario for the first time in a few years. So many options for golf here. Saw the great reviews for Deer Island so we gave it a try. Headed out early to try to get a replay if it was worth it.
This course is magnificent! Beautiful layout. Water (and critters) everywhere. The course is in great shape. The greens were just a touch slow but good otherwise. Some challenging holes with some water to carry. Good distance from the rear tees so great for long ball hitters.
Loved it so much that we grovelled in the extreme to get a replay and the great guys at the clubhouse got us out again. Military discount available.
One of the best golfing days of my life. Met a fantastic guy who joined as our 4th too.
A perfect day!

Good value

Tee boxes are in good shape.
Fairways dry and firm.
The greens needed to be cut and rolled. A bit slow and bumpy.
The course is flat. Has some good dog legs and a few scenic holes.
Good fun for the money.

Decent course for the money

First time playing this course.
Weather was absolutely perfect. Sunny and 17 degrees at 8 am.
Second couple to tee off. Poked around a few times for lost balls but completed the course in under three and a half hours.
Tee boxes were not mown and were in progress when we made our way through.
Fairways were in really nice condition.
Greens were excellent. Rolled true and fast once the dew burned off.
As mentioned in other reviews the bunkers are unplayable unless your are in a flat spot. They have basically been abandoned.
Fast electric carts. Like those…
Homes in the area are not in play as others have eluded to. They are set back a long way.
Lovely lady at check in. Friendly staff.
We played for $50 all in CDN.
I would do it again at that price.
Fun day.

Great way to start the season.

Course was fully booked due to the great weather and early time of the golf season. Pace was good at 4:15 for 18 holes walking.
Fairways were fairly firm. The course was not soggy or water logged anywhere. Grass was in good condition. Greens were a little slow but in very good shape.
Silver Brooke is a very enjoyable course. If it was closer to a major centre I am sure green fees would be substantially higher.
