Tatum Ridge Golf Links

Overall a very good challenge for the average golfer. Lots of tee shots requiring both accuracy and distance. GPS systems in the carts were essential as water it everywhere.
Shots to greens were always demanding. Greens themselves in good shape. Tough to hold longer irons. Greens were not that fast but we played in the afternoon.
Only negative was the clubhouse under renovation. Looks like it’s going to be a while before it is done. Trailer in the parking lot was ok as a halfway house at least.

Played On 09/28/2019A challenging yet rewarding course
Teed of at noon as a twosome. Round seemed slower though we played in 4.5 hours. Foursome in front were slow. No Marshall on course which was surprising for a Saturday afternoon. Course conditions were very good other than the greens were quite beat up. A number of unrepaired ball marks were on each My playing partner’s ball was seriously affected when running over a few poorly repaired marks. I dwell on this as it was the only serious problem.
Played the gold tees and they are quite demanding despite a lower than expected slope rating. I think this is a course that would benefit with a hybrid gold/silver series of tees like some other courses now provide.
A in all a 4/5 round. Good value for the money.
Whirlpool Golf Course

Really liked the course, the conditions the staff and the clubhouse. Only issue was constant helicopter traffic flying over the course. Probably one every 3-4 minutes from 10am to noon. The winds picked up and I think the helicopters were grounded for our back nine. Serenity was much appreciated. Recommendation: play when it’s too windy to fly passenger helicopters!
The Wizard Golf Course

Course was in very good shape and enjoyed the layout. Length from the regular tees was a bit long for me but my 20 year old son and wife both enjoyed the generous fairway landing areas. Water was around but rarely in serious play. Greens were well kept.
The sandwich and two drinks inclusion (beer option too) was appreciated, particularly given that it wasn't set up as a ploy to get you to buy more food. We took drinks at the turn then a sandwich and another drink after the round.
Play was a bit slow and there wasn't any marshal to be seen. Still we finished in just under 4 hours and 45 min so difficult to complain.too much.
Club house was interesting. Needs a bit of TLC to make it a 5 star. Outdoor patio area was closed. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Indigo Creek Golf Club
Played On 04/29/2019Good bones but needs water, fertilizer and general TLC
Booked nine holes for 922 tee off. Practice are was ok. Tees well watered so was hopeful the course would be in good shape. Unfortunately the course, while well designed, was not kept in decent condition. Fairways were a mix of dirt sand and dry, dormant grass. Areas around greens not watered making short shots difficult off of concrete like conditions. Greens were watered but could rarely hold an approach shot. Poly Ana grass infections on most greens made putting very rough. Glad we were playing just 9... explanations by the starter were that the Bermuda grass was just coming out of dormancy and they don’t overseed the fairways. Seemed like a bit of a stretch given there are numerous other courses in much better condition in the area.
