The Brookside Club
Played On 07/04/2020Best Greens on the South Shore
I keep coming back to The Brookside Club because they have the best greens of any public course on the South Shore. To me the green condition is the most important aspect of a great course.
Pinehills Golf Club - Nicklaus Course
Played On 07/15/2018Pinehills gets it
I always leave Pinehills happy. The people here understand how to operate and maintain a golf course. The tee times are perfectly spaced for a consistent pace of play. You almost never wait on tee boxes.
What makes Pinehills a 5-star golf course is the practice facility and clubhouse. With a double ended range, 4 practice greens and a clubhouse with a "private" feel, you could really spend a whole day here working every aspect of your game and relaxing at East Bay Grille. This continues to be one of the best all-around public golf venues in the south shore.
The Brookside Club

For me, the quality of a course's greens play a huge factor in how I review the course. The greens at Brookside Club are immaculate. And oh yeah, the fairways and tee boxes are just as good. Seriously- the conditions here are about as good as it gets. I paid $63 for 18 holes with cart. This is one of the nicest courses I've ever played under $100.
Acushnet River Valley Golf Course
Played On 06/08/2018If they can ever figure out pace of play....
Acushnet River Valley is one of the best values anywhere. $39 everyday after 1 p.m. for 18 holes and cart. That's almost unheard of. At that price point you wouldn't expect much, but the course is in really good shape. The greens are awesome and the layout makes it a fun round. Some real memorable holes and shots here. The only issue - after 1 p.m. it's a total free-for-all on the first tee. If you come at the wrong time, it could be a 5-6 hour round.
Sandwich Hollows Golf Club

When I found a hot deal for $16, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. Are they trying to play tricks on me? What's the catch?
I didn't expect much at this price, but I was pleasantly surprised. The fairways are average but the greens are slightly above. Definitely playable and you can make putts here. Has to be the best value by a long shot.
Lakeville Country Club
Played On 08/03/2017Hot deal for $12
Hot deal $12 for 18 with cart. That's the only way I would play LCC. The course is in rough shape. Greens are not good. Typical price is close to $50 which is not worth it. The staff is investing in the bar and restaurant not the course. They don't have a pro at the course..
Lakeville Country Club
Played On 07/30/2016DO NOT go on weekends
I play LCC once a week. Great deals on GolfNow if you go during the week. Don't bother going on the weekend. They make tee times 4 MINUTES APART, you will be waiting on every hole.
It took 3 hours to play 9 holes with cart for 2 people. Stick to Monday-Friday for a fun round.
Thank you for your review. The only area of our tee sheet with a 4 minute interval is between 1:56pm and 2:00pm. All other intervals are 8 minutes apart. We will work with our rangers to address pace of play going forward, especially on busier weekends. Thank you again.
