This is a great course for the casual golfer who doesn't want an overly tough challenge. The course is kept in fine condition, but still feels a bit pricey for the type off course it is. But overall, well worth a visit
Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

Course is fun, interesting layout, but greens were sooo slow it made putting difficult. Otherwise, pretty good. Very tight, weaving in and out of homes, not too long, pace of play acceptable. Thinking of walking? No way, long drives between holes. 19th hole is great.

Like this course, for what it is. Quite short, but in nice shape with quality greens. Fun layout, especially back nine. Seems a bit pricey, but that's Scottsdale. 19th is great for drinks, skip the food.
Ute Creek Golf Course

course is always interesting and in good shape. wasn't sure that would be true in the CO "offseason", but all good.. Staff is always helpful and friendly too. Only issue is the pace of play, but that's at least partly because it's challenging - some holes really bog down as players flounder.
Greg Mastriona Golf Courses at Hyland Hills - Gold Course

have played a lot of local courses this spring, and thanks to the heavy rains a month or so ago, most are in great shape. This one, not so much. It was only fair - greens so-so and fairways spotty - and combined with a laregly dull layout, the course is nothing to get excited about. Still, pace of play was great and the price was pretty good, so on balance, sure, check it out.

played this track a few times, and it always seems to play harder than the rating. Feels very long. Not sure why it feels that way - could be that they have a *lot* of 400 yd+ par 4s, tho the 5s are manageable. It's also often windy. But overall good shape and a few memorable holes.
Colorado National Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2015Good course, but rough shape
I like CO National in many ways: nice layout, good facilities. But it has consistent problems with course upkeep, and this round was a new low. The greens are uniformly awful, and many of the fairways were swamps. On top of that, my cart ran out of juice after nine holes, so I ended up walking in for a new one. This course is evidence of the hard times muni courses are up against these days, I guess.
