Well designed course

If you’re looking for a well kept, magnificently manicured and visually striking course with few blind shots, this is the place! Unlike two of the other high dollar courses in the same town, they’re are very few blind tee shots. There’s no windmills, clowns or fake phoniness about this course. It’s just a well laid out, straightforward track that is challenging but fair. It’s a course made with the usual bunker / water shots too, but for the first time players, there is no “aim for the rock on the hill and hit it straight” guessing games. Just a fair, challenging and well kept course with good views and beautiful holes as its draw. Enjoy!!!!

Made for long hitters

This course is pretty wide open. I’m a 3 handicap and shot even. I can drive it 250-265 and this course let’s you swing away. If you can play decently, you can go low here. Fairly easy course with beautiful Mountain View’s and great course conditions. Played behind four ladies who would take eight or nine shots each just to get to the green. Then the four and five putt each show began. It was S L O W to say the least and after nearly five hours (seemed like ten) we finished. Good place if you can avoid the super elderly foursomes who play 40 yard scuff ball rather than golf.

Clean, well kept and good for the short game

If you’re looking for a really nice, well manicured executive par 60, this is the place. Fast pace of play for us on this day. A really fair, nice little course that you can play in two hours and some change!

Nice place

I played the Canyons course. It’s a nice course with a fairly friendly design from a players perspective. A few holes are a little tight for long hitters (#4) but overall, it’s a pretty fair course compared to the Palmer. No hidden tee shots which is nice. The course conditions were excellent to near perfect on this particular day with greens rolling fast and true. Admittedly, I prefer cart “girls” vs cart “great grandma’s” but at least the snack cart is out there - I’m just being honest so there’s no need to roast me over this observation. The staff was nice and helpful and the place is really just a nice course for a fun place to play. If you want super elevated tee shots, gimmicky holes that should have windmills and clowns, blind tee shots and hidden hazards, go to Wolf Creek or Falcon Ridge. The Oasis is a real golf course with beautiful panoramic views.

Great course. Nice staff. We played late season so the conditions were a bit less than excellent. Hardly anybody on the course - but by the fourth hole we got behind four young GOOBERS. They must have thought they were in a Q School qualifier as each shot on each hole took four practice swings, 3 minutes or more of discussing and a stance of freezing over the ball for a solid 90 seconds before swinging. Wouldn’t even think about letting us through. 5 hours later, we finished. Slow players SUCK

Good course - conditions were not best

This is a historic and interesting place to golf. It’s got SO MUCH potential and natural beauty. It would be a hidden gem worthy of their green fees if only the owner understood - and the course manager paid for decent maintenance. The course looks like a cross between a county landfill and an overused public park. Weeds, unraked bunkers with little sand, overgrown bushes and hedges, filthy smelling ponds that look more like oversized Petri dishes than water - and a big man starter with a draconian personality make it a bad choice. It’s clear they care little about having a nice complex and more about ripping off golfers. I’d be EMBARRASSED to be the owner and would resign in disgrace if I called myself the Course Manager. It’s become the joke of the valley - and is now a place for frustrated homeowners and drunk rally hat wearing foursomes who are here to rent clubs, drive golf carts drunk once a year - or are on parole. STAY AWAY at all costs

Nice, but slow. Course was in good shape

It’s always the worst of the players in the group that drop a second ball consistently, or tee off 2-3 times off every Teebox because their first one only went 30 yards. I get tired of watching bad players hit twice as many shots as everybody else. If you’re a bad player, take lessons. Don’t shoot a 116 times two! If you’re a HACK, learn to golf, but not at the expense of better golfers. Nobody wants to watch twelve to fourteen bad swings on every hole. Sheeeez!

Classic Layout - good condition!

This course was in great shape and usually is. Beautiful scenery, majestic mountains and wonderful ambiance from yester-year. The staff is excellent and friendly. Though "slightly" dated, it has the feel of the sixties without being or feeling old. If you can get past the lack of concrete cart paths, the course is just about near perfect.

Nice course

This course is decently laid out but has some narrow holes. There are 27 holes here. The greens were mowed tight but still a bit lumpy with tightly mowed grass and smooth dirt filler. The greens were about 70% grass and 30% dirt. The entire course is about what you’d expect at a poorly run municipal course with broken concrete cart paths, weeds, lots of dirt patches and muddy places everywhere. Unfortunately, it’s just a run down course that could be excellent if the owners or management put some effort, funds and pride into the conditions of the course. But, it’s cheap golf and like the saying goes, you get what you pay for. Unfortunately, it’s also a place where high handicappers give “on course” lessons to their first time playing friends. SLOW PLAY is the norm.

Big Improvements!

This course used to be a bit junky, with weeds, brown grass and mediocre fairways. NOT ANYMORE! The course has made some universal improvements for the better. MUCH BETTER! Lush fairways, appropriately fast greens and a total cleanup of all the dried up lakes and unkempt surrounding grounds. It looks like a real resort now, with well kept areas, green grass and not a weed to be found! A real treat to play and if they keep it this way, a renewed jewel for golfers of all abilities!!! Soon to be a local favorite again!

Good course - sow pace

This course is laid out nicely. The reason I know is that I had ample time to study each and every aspect of the course because we waited painfully for five or ten minutes on every shot.

The first six holes took two hours at which point we called the pro shop. They said they’d send out a Marshall. Yep, the Marshall showed up checking his clipboard- only to announce “”the course is playing on pace”. What does that mean? We just played a 2 hour and 45 minute nine hole round. Is that the expected pace of play? If so, COUNT ME OUT! They were kind enough to issue a nine hole rain check, but at this pace, who wants to play????

Great layout and condition

This is a user friendly course with plenty of challenges but safety in smart play. Depending on your tee selection, you can make this course very challenging or super easy. A real golf course and NOT ‘a squeeze it in’ between the houses and condos type of course.
A real treat with good views, little wind and a few degrees cooler temperatures than the valley floor.

Are there Taliban in those hills?

This place has some spectacular views and looks like Afghanistan on a hot day. The rocky sheer cliffs and canyons are close enough to touch and they provide an inspiring backdrop to some excellent golf. We got a good deal and played the course front nine in under two hours but the back nine and the large groups ahead made the back crawl at 2 hrs and 35 minutes. Overall, a four hour+ round but the heat and the slow backside made it seem like a five hour venture.
NOTE: Twenty plus handicaps should not play the tips - especially when all four people in the group drive the ball further laterally than they do forward. PEOPLE, THAT MAKES A S L O W ROUND. Your 124 score is nothing to be proud of either. This course is BEAUTIFUL and the revisions done recently are real nice (sans hole 18). Eighteen is a drivable par 4 and it it slows down there because ever person who owns a driver thinks they can (might) drive the green, even though they didn't hit it half that far on any of the previous holes. Eighteen is a SHORT par four or a LONG par 3 for single digit players - but it's still nice. The whole place was a great experience - and it would even be better with a Marshal who enforces the slow play dilemma or a starter who tells beginner golfers which tee's to play. This course has it all and it's even better and nicer now than it was several years ago.

Short but challenging

This course is an oldie. Pretty short and narrow with smaller than average greens. The condition of the course is very good to excellent and the value is superb. If you’re a beginner, it’s a good place to start (but don’t play slow). If you’re advanced, it’s a good place to play and challenge your accuracy. A great place all around!

The BEST greens anywhere!

This is a tough course - if you play the wrong tees. If you’re not a 9 handicap or better, play the middle tees and leave your ego and pride in the parking lot. Otherwise,, you’ll be loading up your bags at the end of the day with a scorecard that likely approaches your IQ score. (If you’re smart). The greens are close to mini tour caliber and the fairways are fair and nice - for accurate hitters. A great place to challenge your skill level. It’s not easy, but it’s a lot of fun and smart, accurate play is rewarded.

Not bad!

This is a well kept course in a well established neighborhood. In other words, everything screams 60’s and Rat Pack. But it screams it in a good way. The course is short and tight - but still good. The place is worth it for a challenging golf experience without the PGA West / La Quinta prices. Bring your long hitter friends and watch them drive deep into the woods ..... er uh...neighborhood. You better think your way around this course because trying to “over-power it” will cost you strokes! A good deal and a fun course!!!

Pretty decent course!

The course was in decent shape with adequately fast greens and decently maintained fairways. Pace was a tad slow but who cares for $15? Still finished in 3 hours. If I was forced to find a negative, I’d say it has the feel of a 1960’s local “muni”. But hey, THATS WHAT IT IS - with 1960’s green fees too - if you use Golf Now to buy your tee time!

Bombers course!

This is a beautifully manicured golf course with excellent greens. The course isn’t overly long but it’s not short either. It’s WIDE OPEN on many holes and invites the player to drop bombs with the driver. If you can hit it long and still find your ball - this course is forgiving. A fun and inviting course that is beautiful and well kept. Only small issue: no driving range - so warm up somewhere else before tackling this fun course.

It’s really good right now!

I’ve played this course many times over the past decade. Sometimes it’s good and sometimes it’s just acceptable. But this past week, I played this course twice and OH BOY what a change! This is the best shape I’ve ever seen this course to be. The greens were perfect and fast, fairways lush and green and the course was tidy and well kept. I was amazed at the tournament like conditions. Somebody in management decided to make some changes for the better and it REALLY SHOWS! Wow! Thank you! If there’s a con, it would be the old carts with bald tires and worn out suspension- but the rumor is that new carts have been ordered. We will see. If you want a challenging but well maintained course, check out the improvements here - they are impressive! Let’s hope it lasts

Great place ..... most of the time.

This course is first class but can be relatively expensive. Additionally, the course was cartpath only ... making play slow and also difficult to know yardage’s when the cart is 80 yards away from your ball. Overall, a beautiful place with a course that penalizes poor shoots with deep valleys, water and treacherous sand traps. Fun but bring your A game!!!
