Florida Keys Country Club
Played On 01/09/2021good course
first - this is not a Pete Dye course. the keys are not the lush primped courses of southern florida. Having said that i really enjoyed the round and value. pace of play was excellent. the staff was over the top friendly. they are getting over a hurricane and you play the front nine twice. very good value for the money .

Stunning course. The staff was incredible - Ellsworth the starter was exceptionally friendly and informative. The greenskeepers handed me two balls as I drove past them. - by the way you will need extra golf balls. This course is very punitive for a poor shot. Watch Utube to see how beautiful the course is. (it is twice as nice in person). The highlight of my two weeks in Hawaii,
Papago Golf Course
Played On 3/3/2013Below average
Played early to catch an early flight. Our group of 12 selected the course to be close to the airport for a early flight. That is the only good thing about the course. The club house is a mobile home. The staff had torn pants, tee shirt and untied shoes. The course was OK if you were on the green, but the rough was just gravel. Pace of play was good (about 4 hours). Overall it does not compare to any Troon course.
Faldo at Wildfire Golf Club at Desert Ridge Resort
Played On 3/2/2013Beautiful, fast greens - fun day
The course is fantastic. The staff was over the top friendlly and helpful. This is what you would expect from a JW Marriott. When we were there they were getting ready for an LPGA event. I pity the ladies because the course was tough and the greens fast. The GPS on the carts were really helpful. I didnt always put the ball where the GPS thought it should go, but i had a great time the entire round.
Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Club

You cant go wrong with a Troon course. Our group of 12 plays four rounds in a weekend and this was as good as it gets. They have a $159 special for breakfast, lunch and two rounds of golf. The breakfast was excellent. The course is about 30 minutes south of Phoenix but set in a beautiful desert setting. The greens were very well kept and extremely fast. After the first round, we scheduled the second round too tight so the staff had us order lunch and then they drove it out to us on the third hole. (Try the Walleye sandwich). This was a really good course, good value and good experience.
Arizona Grand Resort

We were to tee off at 1:30 and they were running 45 minutes late. They ran out of golf carts and when we were teeing off they said the cart was coming off 17. We teed off and then they drove the carts out to us. The range has wiffle balls, not real golf balls. The pace was painfully slow. The course is narrow and meanders through timeshares or apartments. The fairways and greens were well kept, but not marked well and after a good shot you would find yourself in hidden water. We did not see a cart person the entire round and the one time we saw the ranger it was for him to inform us to have the carts back by 6:30. Our group (12) would never play this again. Too many good courses to consider this location again.
