Challenging but Fair
Great layout! It definitely helped to have played this course once before to know where trouble lies. I love the hard-pan sand around the greens..., allows you to park the cart very close. Greens were in great condition - don't read too much break.

This is a great warm-up course if you are playing multiple times in the area. Really good course layout with some challenging holes mixed in. If you shank a tee shot into a lake, consider it in gone!
Bear Course at Breckenridge Golf Club

Played the Elk/Beaver, courses were in excellent shape Great place to 'cool off' when it's hot along the Front Range.
Rams Hill Golf Club
Played On 03/18/2016Excellent Course, Worth the Drive
I hadn't played this course in 20 years, so I made the trip to play this Fazio-redesigned course. It turned out to be one the best golf experiences I've had in years. My highlights:
* Course was in excellent shape, tee to green
* Good challenge for the low to mid-handicapper
* 3 hour round (played during the week)
* By far, the friendliest staff you'll ever meet
Next time, I'll spend the night in Borrego Springs. The course is worth playing twice.
Redhawk Golf Club
Played On 03/17/2016Great Value, Good Challenge
Greens had just been sanded but most putts stayed on line. Otherwise, the course was in excellent shape.
I've always enjoyed playing this course when I'm in the area. It's a good challenge for a mid-handicapper and a great value for the money.
Good Test
Good test, even though the course is about 6,000 yards from the Combo Tees. A map of the holes would have been helpful (No GPS) to go along with the pin placement chart, having not played the course before.

Played a 4 hour round for $30 on a Saturday - unbelievable. Great track with plenty of challenges..., always a course I play when I'm in the area.
Kahili Golf Course
Played On 04/17/2015Well maintained course at an affordable price
If you are visiting Maui and want to play a lot of golf on a budget, be sure to include this course in your rotation. The course is maintained better than many of the resort courses, at half the price. The staff at Kahili is very friendly, too.
Tee off early to avoid the trade winds, which make the par 4's tougher to reach in two. All of the par 5's are fun holes, providing birdie opportunities. 18 is a disappointing finishing hole..., could benefit from a re-design.
Maui Nui Golf Club

Tee off early in the day to avoid the trade winds.
Wailea Golf Club - Old Blue Course
Played On 11/06/2013Great warm-up course before playing the Emerald or Gold
The course is in the best condition I've seen in several years, from tee to green. Wide fairways make it easy getting off the tee. Spectacular views everywhere, especially from the par-3 12th tee box.
The course could use a marshall - a lot of singles and two-somes are randomly sent out in the afternoon and not paired up, so expect slow play during twilight. Mulligan's is a great place to watch the 'early' NFL games on Sunday.
The Dunes At Maui Lani Golf Course
Played On 11/05/2013Couse is in great condition, beware of the blind shots
I went out early morning and had the course to myself. The Dunes was a nice suprise - it's in great condition from tee to green, at half the price of the resort courses.
No GPS - the course has several blind tee shots, so a yardage book would have come in handy. Tough to score well here if it's the 1st time playing here. The Dunes is located 10 minutes from OGG, so it's a great place to play before leaving Maui.
Plum Creek Golf & Country Club
Played On 10/24/2013Course is in good condition for late October
Greens are in great shape. It's a great course to play during the week...., easy to get a tee time on short notice.
