I’m a fan of Chicopee and play it often. It’s generally a fun atmosphere and I have also met a lot of great people there. I love the laid back fun theme the staff has going. It’s always in good shape, has a good practice facility and, my single gripe is the dressing of the greens. I do wish they were a bit faster. There’s a lot of undulation in the greens but, the putts don’t break like think they should. Otherwise, it’s a great place to play.

I really liked the layout of the course and the conditioning was fine. The price was fair and it was a nice course to take the family to. However, I didn’t like being pushed by the “player assistantance” guy. We were waiting to tee off on almost every tee box. We were still under 4 hours. The beverage cart person was in a hurry to cut laps too. She told us once that we could just get something at the clubhouse, which I thought was weird. It’s a hospitality business and they should show a little hospitality. It doesn’t really matter because I only come to this area every ten years or so and will probably never play this course again. Having said that, it is a fun track with awesome views just wish the old “service with a smile” adage applied here

The whole course was just aerated and is like playing in west Texas. I really like the course and will play it again but, right now it should be $25, not $56. I hate to be negative about Hampton because the staff is always nice and is a course that I like to hit a couple times per year. I wouldn’t have played it knowing the current conditions. I would suggest waiting until waiting for early April before playing there.

I have always enjoyed playing at Chicopee. Sturdy course that’s always in good condition. It has quite a few challenges. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. I’m impressed that even though it’s always busy, you’re always treated good. A lot of courses could learn from them.

I like to play this track at least once per year and always have a great time. The layout and conditions have always been good. From tee to green Hampton is very solid. If you haven’t played this course, you definitely should.

I really enjoyed the course. From tee to green, it was in very good shape. I would have liked to go off on the first tee instead of 10 so, I would have seen the course how it was meant to be played but, I guess that’s the life of a transient golfer. No cart girl so, be sure you are prepared. There was someone at the turn. Inside of the clubhouse takes me back to 1987. It could use modernizing but, who really wants to spend time in there. I would definitely recommend playing the course.

I always enjoy playing this course. The staff is always very nice. Greens are slow but, should be healed up mid April. Never a bad round. The one problem that I have is being paired up with another twosome in the middle of a pandemic

The course is in great shape, especially for this time of year. I haven’t played the Chateau course in a couple years and, was surprised by how much better the greens were. They’re definitely rolling and the pin placements were tough.

As always, we were treated better than we deserved to be treated. The staff is top notch and treat everyone like they want you to come back.

I was surprised at the conditions of the the course considering that it was the middle of November and we have had a massive amount of rain lately. The bentgrass greens rolled really well but, were patchy on a few but, still rolled good. I do wish golfers would help out a fix their ball marks. The price was good too. Some courses have been charging around $60 and $40 for this course was a welcomed sight. The course was busy but, the pace was fine. The prices on in the clubhouse were a little high but, I guess they have to make money somewhere. All in all, it’s a good course and had a great time.

I have played this course before and it was in better condition. When I pay $90 for a round I expect the course to be in great shape. The greens on the front nine were pretty rough but, were fast and smooth on the back. None of the bunkers had been raked and were hard as a rock. It’s really a shame that a Rees Jones course is not loved by the owners. Another thing that I didn’t like was being paired up with another twosome. When a course is $50 and busy, I understand but, we all pay the extra money for an extraordinary round. I think this is one of the toughest and trickiest layouts in Georgia. It’s an absolute work of art. I hate to see beer cans and other trash laying around all over it. I just wish that the management will get it back together before they lose the course. With all of the courses in our area, (many of which are in a lot better shape) you can have a more satisfying round for a lot less money. This track should be $60-$65. If you want something nice, ride over to Barnsley or wait until they get it together at Echelon, or bring the price down. Also, don’t bother with the food in the clubhouse. It’s disgusting.

I always like Denis Griffiths designs and, love the challenges he provides. We were greeted at the car by a guy named Chris that humped two bags from the far end of the parking lot to the cart and had the clubs, and range balls ready for us to go. We don’t use the bag drops and were surprised that he did that. The pro shop is somewhat modest. The grill has good food and awesome service thanks to Matt. It was our first time there so we were given a card (with a survey) for a free drink for each of us so, that was a nice touch. The course is very solid and the bentgrass greens were in nice shape. I do wish people would fix their ball marks but, I digress... The cart lady was around numerous times so, there’s no need that won’t be met. It was very busy but, the rangers kept everything flowing and the pace good. I look forward to getting back out there.

I probably shouldn’t even review this course. It was $30, and we were playing on a rain check from the previous trip when it rained and, waited it out then, the guy running the place told us we had to leave because of the member day coming up the next day. The big thing is that we had a threesome hitting balls at us for 18 holes. We were a twosome and had a slow threesome in front of us and, we were playing patiently (like gentlemen golfers do) and the hackers behind us kept spraying balls everywhere behind us. They knew we were waiting and kept them coming. I know that it’s normal for courses around Athens, like Lane Creek and Victoria Bryant and this course is following the mold. The greens are tiny and shaggy. Fairways are already brown, and no amenities to be seen. They do have water jugs! Also, we were only supposed to be paying $28 and the guy there charged us $30 and, it’s not a big deal but, just the principal. He knew the price that we booked the course for. There’s not a real difference and, I knew that I wasn’t going back but, he didn’t get away with anything. I may sound angry but, I am not. It’s a $30 round. I wouldn’t go at a time and pay more than that.

Greens recently punched. Probably within a week. I can’t believe that the aeration was scheduled for the week before Labor Day and there’s a couple holes that they’re doing a good bit of work on. I like this course and would normally recommend it to anyone but the price was too high for what is going on. Also when I booked, I didn’t see any aeration notification. The staff is always courteous and professional and the renovation to the clubhouse is gorgeous. This is only a temporary rating but, by October 1, it should be back in shape.

I’m totally in love with this course. I love Robert Trent Jones and Jr courses. I like the way the course looks and it’s in great condition. To me, it’s one of the best deals in north Ga. I drive an hour and a half to get here but, it’s definitely worth it. Great staff, clubhouse, practice facilities and carts. If you haven’t played this course, don’t think about it, just do it.

I can say that I have never had any bad experiences at Chateau Elan, on either course, and the staff is always accommodating. The courses are always consistent. From tee to green, they’re in good shape. Denis Griffith’s courses are always fun.

I love the layout and condition of the UGA course! This course is a beast! The greens are rolling good, but are being aerated June 26-28. I always play this one a few times per year to keep myself humble. The fairways are in great condition. I’m not fond of the kids working in the clubhouse, because they’re normally rude, but generally throw in a condescending “Sir” to act like they aren’t being rude. The starters are usually nice older guys. Having said that, once you get away from the clubhouse, you will be in a different world. This course has it all, for those that like a challenge.

Chicopee is my home course and I always feel at home there. The staff is great, they support junior/family golf, and it’s a good challenge for the guys. Good facilities and well kept practice area. They fairways are solid, and offer a variety of challenging shots. The greens are a little slow, but are very solid. A couple of small things that I really enjoy is the club/ball washer on the cart, and plenty of water barrels around the course. The price is fair, especially considering that you’re not playing through the middle of a subdivision.

I love this course, and try to play it several times a year. I have never liked the staff, but they did have a very nice, and friendly starter. I don’t like the service in Athens, in general, because rude, entitled, college students gripes me. However, once you get away from the clubhouse I find that this course is like no other. It’s in great shape, but still wet from the weeks of rain. Greens are firm and rolling good.

I would never consider any round of golf bad, but I was in a threesome, and had to get in a cart with some aggravating old man that made the round miserable. I don’t like people driving in front of others while they’re taking their shots, and complaining the whole round. I wanted to take my bag and just walk back several times, and if the course went back to the clubhouse after, I would have left. My friends and I always have a great time playing wherever we go, and it was a shame, because the course was in good condition. If you play Reunion, take your full foursome.
