Played an early morning at the Barony course which we have played many times. Found the course to be in very good condition after it had been aerated a few weeks ago. The course the flat layout common to lowland golf. Water borders many of the holes but shots are not fed into the hazards like a number of the area courses. Greens were in good shape generally for this time in summer heat. The staff here is just excellent and the daily fee is fair for on island golf. Play here, you’ll have a great time.

We’ll. I’ll start by saying that the greens were very nice, everything else about the course itself was dreadful. The fairways were mostly weeds, and the bunkers don’t appear to have been take care of in years. You could see that this was once a pretty nice course but the level of neglect that it has endured over the past few years has tragically reduced it to the condition it is in now.

I’ve played most of the HHI coursed (public).and I’ve found that Oyster Reef consistently has the best conditions on the island. The layout it friendly without being too easy or difficult. The staff is very friendly making the experience very enjoyable. Anyway play it you’ll defiantly like it.

The Bay course at Seaview in Absecon NJ. Is a great old course that seems to be very much the same as it was when it opened in 1914. Probably just as difficult too. Only one hole with a water feature (not counting the bay) but plenty challenging with fast elevated greens, narrow fairways and I can’t find my ball rough. The bunkers could use a little more sand but overall you’ve got to use your entire bag of clubs and be surgically accurate with your shots. Shot 90 (it so good) but it could have been much worse and it was still a lot of fun and very scenic as well.

Really one of the nicest courses in the Hilton Head area challenging but not too difficult. Friendly staff, great facilities and to top it off a nice restaurant.
