Bewdley Pines Golf Club
Played On 10/18/2022Fair to the average golfer
Played Bewdley Pines for £20 which is very reasonable by any standards. Greens were immaculate and true. Holes 2 - 6 are testing so unless you like losing balls probably best to play conservatively. After the 6th the course opens out with wide fairways, although there are quite a few par 4's over 400 yards. Only one short par 3, the14th.
Played on my own with a 2pm tee off and did not get held up until the 15th when I got stuck behind 4 ball using buggies!!
I like Bewdley Pines, a well organised venue where the course isn't too hard on high handicappers such as me.
Little Lakes Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2021Little Lakes, Little gem.
Played this course earlier today in sweltering heat. Beginning to dry out after many dry days but greens were superb. I have played many courses in the UK and abroad and the greens match the best. A minor criticism would be that the first cuts were too long and I lost a few balls that I would normally have found easily.
Little Lakes is very undulating and I am 66 so my motocaddy was ,for me,essential. A buggy would have been even better.
It is of benefit to have played the course before as there are quite a few dog legs which are not obvious from the trees.
I did not find the course overly long and course management is more important than length - a 3 wood or hybrid is sufficient off most trees.
Facilities are restricted due to COVID but we enjoyed a welcome drink and sandwich after the round.
Sapey Golf Club - Rowan Course
Played On 08/26/2020Worth the drive
Hadnt played Sapey for about 10 years and it has developed well. Trees have grown and fairways and greens were lush. I was impressed by the quality of the fairways and didn't have a bad lie anywhere. The locals are very lucky to have a course of this quality and for us urbanites it is well worth the drive.
