When all the other courses start getting ridiculous with their green fees ( many not worth it)
San Marcos provides a nice course at good rate.
The course was in good shape, especially for as much traffic as it gets and a brutal summer. The pace of play was 4 hours on the dot.

I love this course…. It’s a gorgeous, fun track!
Every hole has something special.

I just like this course… it reminds of an old country club something we lack in the valley…. The only thing I would offer a negative opinion on is that the tee boxes need some love

This course reminds me of an old school country club from the bar to the restaurant and the course it was a really good experience. The rate was good especially because this time of year most courses hose the locals. I definitely will be back

This place is amazing…. Staff incredibly friendly, fun atmosphere, pace of play was great, nice layout…. I was very impressed ( even bought a ranch card after the round) I will definitely be back

When every track in the valley is asking for ridiculous green fees , Toka sticks is staying very reasonable and I truly appreciate it. The fairways were in very good condition and the greens ran true. The pace of play was very good. When summer comes and all the snowbirds leave town, this course will be on the top of my list because they aren’t trying to screw the locals

To start, I live over an hour away from the course, so to play it more than once there has to be something to it.The course was in nice shape, the greens were soft ( it rained earlier in the day) but ran true. The only complaint is very similar to several other observations from previous reviewers…. pace of play…. there are plenty of rangers rolling around the place, but lots and lots of time standing over the next shot for several minutes. I will be back because I do enjoy the course, but they definitely need to work on speed of play.

Probably played Rancho at least a dozen times..... every time I marvel at how beautiful it is..... course was in great shape

Played a lot of tracks this winter and spring ( all ridiculously over priced ... and I’m a native) ... this course was in the best shape bar none compared to the rest and 30 to 50 bucks cheaper! Granted it’s not the most entertaining layout... but it’s a lot better than paying 130 bucks for other non entertaining layouts

Course was in great shape!
One of the gentlemen we were paired with had played the course many times, he told me that I would be talking to myself by the end of the round because the greens are so difficult. He was right! Still had a blast and will play again

I don’t normally do negative reviews but in this case I feel I must .... this is probably the tenth time I’ve played this course and it is always muddy no matter what time of year. That being said, knowing that we’ve had a bunch of bad weather recently, this course needs help! There are so many bare spots it’s ridiculous, you hit a great tee shot to be rewarded with a ball stuck in mud where it would have run out ten or twenty yards on grass. I realize there are a lot of hills and undulations but there’s literally no grass in some areas of fairways of the majority of holes

Really enjoyed my round.... course in good shape.... they are almost at 90 degrees after overseeding.... several holes that require some strategy.... will be back

It’s a fun course... not the greatest track but by far not the worst... wasn’t in the greatest shape today but it’s just before overseeding which is understandable... will play here again in the future
