Challenging Greens. Great Practice Facility.

Played Robins Nest very early on a Sat. morning. Nice little par 3 course where the pace of play was fantastic. Longer par 3 holes that are great for mid-iron practice. Greens have a lot of character and elevation changes allowing for creative pin placements which can create quite the challenge to get the ball close to the hole from the tee or even chip shots. Robins Nest will truly test your feel and touch on the greens as well as from just off the greens. A majority of the holes run North and South which worked out great in the early morning. The driving range practice area is quite nice with natural turf areas along with automated tee mats as well. Great value for the money spent and the speed of which you can get around this challenging little track.

Cousre has been in much worse shape in the past.

Hillview G.C. is a nice course that is in very good shape right now. My only complaint about the course itself was the lack of change between the fairways and rough. I was in the "rough" a handful of times but never felt like I was being penalized. The course was quite firm which provided quite a bit of roll off the tee. Greens were in good shape with the only exception being the lazy people that refuse to repair ball marks. With as many as we repaired we should qualify for a free greens fee. Hillview G.C. is a great course for beginner to intermediate golfer.

Course Turn-Around Apparent

It is clear things seem to be turning around at Deer Run. Cart path repairs, turf maintenance, bunker repairs are all issues that have been addressed this season. We were hesitant to play Deer Run this year but we've been pleasantly surprised. The staff has been welcoming and inviting. This is likely to become our home course and we will probably purchase a membership next season if this course continues and maintains the obvious improvements that have been made.
