Whiskey Creek Golf Club

I've played probably close to 40 courses including some very nice ones. However, this is by far my favorite. The conditions are great and the course is obviously maintained expertly. The beauty of the course and surrounding area, along with the awesome layout make this my favorite course, hands down.

Scottish Links. This course was great! Beautiful fariway undulations, bunkers, and water hazards made me have to calculate every hole very carefully. Greens were not super fast, but definitely fast enough and rolled true to the read. Honestly, this layout design is probably one of the best I have ever played (which is close to 3 dozen courses.) Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The experience was so great that I not only played friday, but the following sunday as well. For a course this nice, $25 for 18 holes is a steal. The only issues I had with the entire course was that some of the bunkers were not in great shape (hard.)

Great course for the money. I play here often because the tee times are often under $15 on golfnow. It is a difficult course, for sure, and playing here is always fun and interesting....and of course at times frustrating. Don't lose your temper on 13, haha. Pace of play is usually good and players usually show etiquette on the course, but today when i played I got stuck behind.........a FIVESOME. When I made mention to the manager, he immediately sent out an employee to split them up, but they didn't listen. Fortunately they at least picked up the pace on the back nine so we weren't waiting as much.

Played On 07/17/2014starter troubles
I've heard that the course has been going downhill the past couple years due to new management, so I haven't played in that time. It seems that it must be getting better because most of the course is in nice condition.
There are a couple of small areas here and there where you can tell they are trying to fix former bare spots, (tight rows of grass instead of a consistent covering,) but it was not a real issue, my ball only settled in one of these once.
The main issue was that it took nearly 5 hours to finish my round on a weekday! The starter seemed to be pretty green (hah) and sent out a large cluster of groups to the first tee in a short period of time. I was there for 15 minutes prior on the practice green and didn't see one group come off the 9th hole, so it seemed to me that sending some groups off on the 10th would have been easy. On the 11th hole he even approached my group saying that we were playing too slow according to the people behind us even though we were waiting 5-10 minutes to tee off on EVERY hole, (not to mention time waiting on approach shots.) He outright said that he was moving back to front through the groups telling them to pick up the pace. Doesn't it make sense to drive up the whole line of groups to see how congested it is instead of complaining to each group, back to front, that they aren't playing quick enough? If we weren't waiting, my group would have easily finished the course in 2 less hours.
