Squaw Valley Golf Course - Comanche Lakes Course
Played On 10/09/2020Always Enjoy playing here. Top Notch
Love playing this track when I am in town. Links or Lakes. Both are just awesome fun courses that are always in top notch shape. Not over excessively tight, but has some water that your ball don't float in. If the wind is blowing it can make some holes play really tough. The greens are pretty quick, but that day were a little bumpy, could be the season, not sure if they roll them. But overall tee to green play is fair and consistant. The sand traps tended to be firm. But as long as they are all the same I'm good with that. The pro shop is small, but has a decent selection of clothes, balls, clubs. And the staff always has been pleasant. The carts are nice and have usb chargers in them. The practice facility is awesome, big driving range, great chipping green and 2 putting greens. All at a great rate. Def a gem.
Waterchase Golf Course
Played On 10/04/2020Very Enjoyable round
Played here with a couple others on a recomendation, I am not from the area. And it didn't dissapoint. This course was well maintained. Very enjoyable course, there are some "weird" holes, 2 way different ways to a par 5 is fun. The fairways are pretty wide which helps with some of the holes you may not expect what you get. The greens held a shot very well even from myself a higher handicap, and they rolled really well and were quick. The pro shop has a great selection of balls, clothing and snacks. The staff was very friendly. There are some tables to sit at, but the proshop/snackshop isn't huge and there isn't a "bar" area but they do serve beer at least. I would return here in a heartbeat.
Saugeen Golf Club - Legacy Nine
Played On 09/17/2020Could play over and over
I could play all 27holes over and over here. I really enjoyed all of the courses. The course was in fantastic shape. Greens were soft and rolled true. The fairways were plush and tee boxes flat. Some really fun holes on this course. I was told they have a new greens keeper and the member I played with said he has busted his butt in the last year and really gotten the course in great shape. Hats off to him and his crew. The driving range and chipping green with a sand trap is a cart ride away but nice. The pro shop is nice and has shorts, shirts, balls, clubs and shoes for purchase, and the workers were all pleasant. The snack shop serves some real cold beer! The upper patio is beatiful, would be nice having some high top tables up there to see over the glass wall. The patio outside of the snack shop is a great touch with lots of great views of the course. Def would return if I am back in the area

Played On 09/08/2020Fun, great facility
Played here a few times while in town. Never played it when it was 18 holes, although I prefer 18holes, i enjoyed the 12hole option. The course isn't pristine, but it isn't bad at all and it isn't priced like its pristine. The driving range is very nice, nice big putting green that you can chip on also. The course has some long legit par 5's so its not a short course. The greens are a nice moderate speed with a little slope to keep you guessing. The pro shop is fairly small with a few options the staff was nice. I didn't eat but they had some great deals for food, and some really nice seating setups inside and out in the pavilion. Def a fun little course that won't take up alot of your time if your in the area with family.

Played On 09/07/2020Awesome, Awesome
Played here while in the area, and it did not dissapoint. It rained over night and in morning. So the fairways were really wet. But from Tee to green this course is beautiful. The views you get, absolutely stunning. The greens held shots well and were super quick. Rolled so well. This is the best course I have ever played all around. If I am ever in the area I will be back. The pro shop had a ton of stuff to choose from and all the staff was great. The Driving range is nice with a chipping green with a sandtrap and a putting green. The clubhouse, nice little bar, but he setup outside with the view of the bay and the 9th and 18th green. I didn't want to leave. Great facility.

Unfortunately I can not put a good review up for this course. Sad its only 10 years old. The tee boxes were a disaster, no one not even the grounds crew obviously repairs ball marks. The fairways were in terrible shape. Way over priced with slooowwww pace of play on a saturday. I get it weekend, but way to slow. But probably from the sake that it is a tight course with lots of turns. If you don't hit it straight it will tear you up. I really enjoyed the layout in general but the course conditions would make me not return for a looney over 50 dollars. I did play with a cool group. The logo and grounds are kinda cool. Just fell well short of advertised. The proshop has a little selection, but not bad and the staff was polite.

Played On 08/27/2020Not bad, but not up to expectations
I enjoyed my round at the past RBC Open course. That was a huge draw for me to get there and play. So paying the big price wasn't a big deal, until after the round, then I felt like it was only worth 100CAD tops. The course in genereal was in decent shape, but I expected absolute presitine, I know they are going thru some things about selling for housing, plus RBC not being there anymore. So maybe thats why, but they still are fine digging 125-150 out of peoples walllets. The staff was all courteous. Had a flat bread in the restaurant, which was delcious. It was fun playing a pro course, The greens were the best about the course, rolled well and were quick. Lots of lack of maintenance with like limbs laying around, divots not filled on the tee boxes. The layout was fun. I would play here again if buddies wanted to play but I would not return alone. The pro shop had a ton of stuff to buy for shirts, shoes, clubs. But unfortunately they didn't have solo logo golf balls, had to buy a 30 dollar towel or 24 dollar box of pinnacles just for 1 ball. That was dissapointing. Expectations were not met, I have played worse courses and I have played many better at much lower price. Its a fun course if you wanna say you played there. Enjoy

Played On 08/19/2020Very nice, alot of fun
Played here while working in Canada. I really enjoyed it. The course is short from the tips at only 5700ish yds. But the course was in awesome shape. I thought the layout for most all holes were very fun. Lots of sandtraps that if you find them in the fairway or side of the greens often it could make it a long day . The greens were very soft accepting a shot which i prefer. But they were on the slower side, and did have some either burnout/fungus issues. but mainly around the outside perim of the greens. I would play it again for sure. Was told it may be turned into more housing which would be sad. Good luck to the MAD comitte on fighting that.
Eagle's Nest Country Club at Pebble Creek Resort
Played On 04/24/2016Nice course, early conditions?
Had a great round, very relaxing. Course is nice but I'm not sure if it was time of year or what but the fairways were not freshly cut, I'm figuring from overseeding. But still grass was short enough, the tee boxes were a bit long in height. The greens rolled nicely and broke as expected but were very hard, and balls bounced from 150 out off from my club. The back 9 got very slow, it was a Sunday and I expected that but I watched many times people not play ready golf. And while waiting watching people on the green take re-putts. The course is pretty flat and open so you can usually stay out of trouble. I didn't look at the scorecard, and realized later it is a fairly short couse, only 5700yds from whites. So you may def want to hit from blues, to get an average distance. The fairway sprinklers were all marked with distances and distance markers were placed in the ground. The driving range was nice, really enjoyed the exact measurements to each stick. Putting green was nice and large, but flowed to the pond!! So you could dump one into the pond on accident. I would return for another round for sure.
