Brookdale Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2017Rude staff
I took my dad here as a late Father's Day present and the staff was extremely rude. First, I was gong to walk but my dad paid for 2 riders in a cart so I went to put my push cart back in my car and was scolded by the guy in the pro shop even though we still had 20 minutes till our tee time.
Second, a group was on the tee box on 1 at our tee time and hit, no big deal, but then we were scolded again since we were just a 2some and shouldn't have let their 5some go ahead of us. How is that our fault? Sounds like they should've stopped them beforehand over the loudspeaker.
We were held up by the groups ahead of us (2-5somes) and they came out twice and told US to play faster or they would make us leave. Pretty disappointing from a less than decent course. Who do they think they are, Chambers Bay? I ended up shooting an 84 and my dad shot a 90. I would only recommend this course to my buddies that shoot in the 70's. That's obviously who they think should play there.

Feat course at a great price! Some areas could be drained better, but, it's a fun, quick course that's kept in better condition than most public courses in the area, that cost less than $40.

It is a very nice 9 hole course. However, the others don't give it much competition. This course IS nicely kept and a lot of fun, I just think $30 for 18 is too high. I play a very similar course back in Tacoma, that is $12 for 9, or $20, for 18.
Other than the cost, I really did like this course. I'm a 16 hdcp and shot 7 over in 15-20 mph winds. Some holes, my GPS told me that the hole was only 125 away but it was playing like 163!!! Just be prepared. You're real close to the ocean so it's gonna be windy.

Other than being treated like I didn't belong there, it was a pretty good day. We got there 10 minutes before our 6:30 AM tee time, and rather than trying to get us out on the course, the guy in the pro shop, thought it would be better to try and bash me for my debit card being declined. (When I checked my acct balance, I noticed that my info was stolen and all of my cards were maxed out!) Of course at 6:30 AM, there's no way for me to know that, especially on a Sunday when the banks are closed...
I returned after our round, just to kinda rub my 76 in his face a lil, but, he was nowhere to be found.
I wouldn't let one person decide how I like the course though. I've played here a few times, and, although Ryan (Moore) is taking the trees out and making his courses less difficult, it's still a challenging and fun course. I'll play from the tips next time around, maybe even ask the shop guy if he wants to wager a lil bit. ;)

Great course, 6 tee boxes, nice layout.
Pro shop and restaurant have a sign outside saying to be complete in Spring 2014... No effect on course or play, just thought to myself, "Man, I would've taken that sign down a long time ago."

I was amazed of how nice the tee boxes were. The overall condition of the course was outstanding, if there was an immaculate option to select I would've chosen it.
